Don't agree with the suspension but this is ultimately a good thing for the Dodgers imo Free of 62 million dollars for a pitcher that was trending downwards after the crackdown on doctoring baseballs. Baseball aside, it's complete fucking bullshit but I am not surprised by it. Bauer never stood a chance after being so openly against Manfred and many things in baseball. His politics certainly didn't help either
I don't think 2-years will stand. It's MLB's cynical attempt to sound like they "care" all the while they won't put up a fight when the player's association inevitably appeal. MLB can then try to make the player's association look bad. Whatever. Anyway, if there is anything to be learned here it's that you really really need to trust your partner when you're into the kinky stuff.
My only assumption here is that MLB's investigation uncovered something that is not public. Otherwise, what's the crime for this record setting penalty, let alone any suspension? I agree with jpldodgers that this is probably a good thing for the Dodgers, but it doesn't seem just for Bauer - not that I'm going to lose any sleep worrying on his account. .
I dont think magic ever had aids. The CDC probably paid him a bunch of money to be the fall guy/poster boy and all his past deeds would be swept under the rug. This is hollywood, the capital of showtime.
I keep reading more that if Bauer successfully reduces his suspension through the appeal, Dodgers will cut him and eat the remaining contract. Which could impact our ability to sign another impact player if needed. Which means I now hope the arbitrator rules to keep the suspension. Harsh? Yes, but he's the moron that put himself in that situation.

I agree with your take. I think she's lying too, although I can't say whether these "other women" have a legit case or not since there've been no details made public. Kind of kills the mood, but if I'm in his position with his huge contract and so much to lose, I'd look to have everything in writing prior to the act. He has attorneys - have them take care of the business before he gets down to business, so to speak. Yeah, that's easy to say and hard to do. But he's got to know that he's the golden goose for any diggers out there. I am sympathetic towards him and his situation, but the fan in me overrules and I want the team to have as much financial flexibility as possible - not to increase profits for ownership, but to be able to continue to sign impact players.
