Avoiding Wainright in game one is the opposite of a good thing. They won their mismatch. The Cards would have felt okay losing this one. We needed it way more.
Sure, but you said it. The offense scored 2 runs in 13 innings. The loss tonight goes on Yasiel Puig, Adrian Gonzalez in his first AB (where a sac fly would have done against a pitcher with terrible strikeout rates), Andre Ethier and AJ Ellis. It's easy to chastise a manager instead of the players because the players are more likable, but it's on them. Luckily tomorrow we won't need as many runs.
Kelly threw two pitches in the strike zone in the first 3 innings of the game and our hitters just kept swinging at bullshit

It's okay. One day when we're old and gray we will make it to a game 6 of the NLCS. And then one day, the next generation will be able to possibly see a team make it past the NLCS. Don't hold your breath though...no promises. The NLDS is child's play. The Pirates and Braves were pretenders if you ever saw 'em. In the original divisional style baseball, the playoffs would have just begun with the Cards and Dodgers and their wouldn't have been a first round to pretend matters. I am avoiding writing an insane paper right now, that i expected to start closer to 9:00 than 11:00 but that's the way of the Dodgers. Fuck us over and make us wait. Pity. The Cards are just better. It sucks, and I thought we might be better...but tonight is evidence. When it matters, they never lose if they're truly the better team. I guess 25 years of being losers is a hard thing to shake off.
