Greinke is doing it on the road too which is very impressive and according to a large sample size of past performance, quite a pleasant surprise. Feeling real good about him.

I generally agree with your sentiments but as someone else mentioned nolasco is a FA.imo $8-9/ for 4 years sounds about right there if the dodgers want to bring him back.a lefty in he pen is a need whether it be howell or someone else.I expect uribe back next year unless someone makes a rediculous offer.however I don't think ellis will be back at least until they exhaust all other possible options.even if they sign guerrero I expect a move to be made at second base and I don't think it will be cano.I see rickie weeks, howie kendrick,or even a buy low move like jemile weeks all as viable options so guerrero wouldn't be thrown right into the fire

I'd be surprised for Nolasco to get only 8/9 mil a year, I say he gets much more, especially considering what pitchers like Joe Blanton and Dan Haren got this offseason.

Like I said a few months ago when we got him, 3/36 sounds good from us, might be a little low, but he's from LA and loves it here, you can tell that from his Twitter feed.

I bet 3/36 with a vesting option for a 4th gets it done, but idk. It might take 13-15 mil per year. I like Kershaw/Greinke/Ryu/Nolasco and the 5th spot goes to a competition between Fife and all the other rookies until Bills comes back

I agree with vrp.yes it'd be a bit of a discount but he's "home" and I think garza tops the FA pitchers market and he's likely looking at anibal sanchez money and I think we all can agree there's no way nolasco is in the same class unless a team gets desperate...but then again...it only takes ONE team...

I think bills would be better suited out of the bullpen when he gets back,at least for next year and then let him have the offseason and st to stretch his arm out into the starters role again

That'd be my plan. Medlen him, RP when he comes back and then a starter for the last few months.

That might work, but I don't know if his agent would let him be okay with that given that he doesn't have a guaranteed contract for 2015. Maybe if the Dodgers agree on some sort of plan that would agree that team option for 2015, but otherwise, I bet the agent would want him to be a starter to show his value

I forget who it was but a few years ago a starter was made a reliever(floser or set up man) and they ended up reworking his performance clauses and stuff from starter bonuesrs to relief bonuses,it may have been brett myers.also an option,if bills can be a dominant reliever there's good money for that market as well.

Just realized beckett is under contract for next year as well, assuming he can go it would have to be as a starter considering his injurt history...

Yes they are and so is Billingsley but as we learned early in the season when we thought we had great depth in starters but it didn't work out that way and we had to get Nolasco.

Nolasco could get more. Not sure he wouldn't give a home town discount. He is in a professional sweet spot with us and he is a California kid.

I love Bills and have been a big supporter of his during the good and bad. However this is a different Dodger team and roster. This has become a world class sports franchise and I am not sure how much Bills can bring to the table early on at this level.

Guys remember the Dodgers are leading the league in home and away attendance. It is also about marketing. We have some great ethnic marketing going on and that's what pays the bills.

I'm not exactly sure what u were trying to get at,but u certainly are correct.they got white boys(ellis'),hispanics(puid, hanley, agone),asians(ryu),and aliens(uribe :D)...they might be the best most ethnically diverse team...for w/e that's worh lol

When it comes to marketing and the enterprise part of the business. I have not been posting a lot lately so our posting histories don't overlap a lot. But previously I have written a lot about the marketing of the Dodger brand as an international product. It s working and that is a good thing. The name Guggenheim is getting a lot of free media play and that s good for their business both insurance and investing parts.
