Dodgers Zaidi on cueto/trades. "I think they got a good return, We had conversations. We're optimistic (for deal by friday)."

Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS 1m1 minute ago
Some dodgers people did seem disappointed not to get cueto. There's sentiment in clubhouse to get david price, if possible

GM's don't talk like that unless they have great confidence, but man do I hope it's something great. The team is primed for a great run this year, don't fuck it up

Nope. Texas and Dodgers are the "favorites".

How do you get "in the lead" for a player? How do you share "the lead" with another team, too?
It's all so much BS, about on par with the "no team has the buying power that the Dodgers do"...so far, what good is it doing us?
And all these "depth" moves....why the fuck are we so weak where it is so important to be strong then ? Why can't we go into our awesome "depth" and pull someone out that will help us?
Too bad we don't have depth at manager. I wouldn't mind a scrub...anything is better than Donnie. Guy makes moves just for the sake of making them.
    Double switching junkie jerkoff.
If it came in a dime bag, he'd shoot it up.

A great run? I hope so, and admire you for your optimism.
But did you just watch the Met game?
Don Mattingly is the manager, you know.
I just was wondering if you remembered that.

Why must people be talked off the ledge after every Dodger loss.

As much as I love DSP, it's much like any other forum.

People can vent their frustrations in ways they can't elsewhere.

I'm not singling DSP or forums out, you should see the daily reactions on Twitter.

this team seems like they have struck out on a lot of players since this management was hired and that shouldn't be happening. Lost that one Cuban to Arizona, Neshek took less money to go to Houston, We were "interested" in Lester, and Miller and Martin and didn't sign any of them. It's time to put up or shut up with SF breathing down our necks

We have literally zero idea behind the talks so it's not much to fuss over.

    because of expectations/projections
if the brewers had our record they'd be overachieving
but everyone -- including our own front office -- predicted great things for this team
and it's not just a loss, it's how we lose
not scoring runs for one of our two aces against a shit team like the mets

seems we hear the same thing every year; how great "this year's" team is going to be
and yet every year they disappoint
i understand they're rebuilding the prospect pool and i give them props
but you could make an argument that our 2008 and 2009 (major league) teams were better than the 2015 squad

I would also add we didn't "miss out" on Lester, we dodged a fuckin bullet.

Look, it's 27 years of pent up frustration on top of literally hundreds of millions of dollars spent on current players and we've gotten no further than we did even during the McCourt years.

It's wasted pitching outtings by fantastic pitchers.

    It's crazy bad at-bats.

    It's a truly bad in-game manager.

It's watching the idiots up north win three in 5 years.

I dont care what people say about this team not having a window. I dont believe that for a second. This team, all teams have windows of opportunity that close shut if you keep doing stupid things. Go ask the Yankees, the Rangers, Boston, Seattle, A's.....and I hear that window creakin downward for this Dodger team.

    Nothing lasts forever.

You get to the playoffs and hope for the best. That's baseball. The past two years there's been absolutely nothing to complain about regular season wise. As long as they make the playoffs why sit here and whine about stupid things?

@JonHeymanCBS: One dodgers issue is, they're saying they won't deal seager or urias. There's dropoff to their 3rd best prospect (de leon?)

DeLeon is #20 in MLB lol

People just need to realize they're not getting Seager or Urias.

It's not stupid if, for example, the reason you don't advance in the playoffs is bad game management and players that don't do what they are paid to do.

Or put it another way, there is no way you can argue that the Giants lucked into 3 WS championships in 5 years. 1 championship, yes. Three in that short an order, no.

You can point to who's on that team, who manages it and credit that success to them and the process they use.

So what're you supposed to do if the players don't do what they're paid to do? Last year we lost because Kershaw wasn't Kershaw. This team isn't even a 90 win team without him. The playoffs are a crapshoot.

De Leon was #20 on Baseball America, I believe Keith Law had him in his mid-season Top 25, and we'll see where he ends up on MLB.com top 100 this week.

Holmes was #75 in the preseason MLB.com, and figures to move up.
