Good road trip, maybe best of the year since there haven't been many good ones

Damn...Kenley is so cooked right now. CO coming up and the BP is...uh...the BP.
Good thing AJ hit it out...
There's never enough runs scored with this bullpen-never.
So many questions for this Dodger team need to be answered in the next couple weeks...Mattingly's brain must be on melt down.

Here it is. Comes across as hearsay.

    http://www.dodgersnation.com/dodgers-news-phillies-broadcaster-calls-joc-pederson-selfish/2015/08/07

For some reason, Joc Pederson seems to be ruffling a few feathers among broadcasters on the East Coast.

First, it was New York Mets broadcaster and former playerKeith Hernandez, who said that Pederson’s batting practice was “worthless”. The Dodgers rookie center fielder is known for his prodigious power show during batting practice that was highlighted by his performance in the Home Run Derby. Pederson has struggled a bit after a hot start to the year, hitting .191 with eight home runs since June 1.

Now it’s Philadelphia Phillies’ broadcaster Larry Andersen taking shots at Pederson, according to JP Hoornstra of the LA Daily News:

To me it’s just a young, selfish, very selfish player when you come out there, ‘I’m just trying to hit home runs, all I want to do is hit home runs’,” Andersen said. “What about — obviously there’s two outs, it’s not the same — what about if it’s first and third, infield back, all you gotta do is hit a ball on the ground and you’re going to go up there, try to hit home runs?”

Andersen went on to say more about the 23-year-old:

It looks like this guy’s just got one thing on his mind, and that’s either walking or hitting a home run,” Andersen said. “There’s no ‘try and get a base hit here.’ He came out and said it, ‘I’m trying to hit home runs.’ It’s not the smartest thing to come out and say.”

It’s unclear when Andersen “heard” Pederson admit that he was simply trying to hit home runs as he never did an interview with anyone from the Phillies:

Pederson and a Dodgers spokesperson both said the rookie wasn’t approached for an interview by anyone on the Phillies’ broadcast team during the three-game series.

The closest thing Pederson has said is that he swings hard all the time in case he makes contact, but that was more in a joking manner. The Rookie of the Year candidate had just one hit in three games against the Phillies, but he did walk six times.

With the Dodgers in Pittsburgh this weekend, it’ll be interesting if the Pirates broadcasters take any issue with Pederson

It was a bullshit article in which a Phillies broadcaster falsely quoted Joc. Nothing to get excited about actually.

Was mentioned by the AZ announcers today. I took it as something written in a local periodical...so out by y'all...
    LA Times? IDK...sorry.
They also said Joc was asked if he saw the article by Larry Anderson, and he replied "who is Larry Anderson"?
    Indeed...who tf is he?:bored:

Well...OK it's bullshit and hearsay...but I heard Hernandez say his part myself...and I agree with it...unless I'm actually supposed to agree with that he's fine and the FO and everyone else is, too, with what he does AB forever, as long as he plays a good CF. It might be OK now, but down the road, that's gonna get real old.
When you're swinging like a madman on most every cut you take, and you need bat discipline and better approach, if you do your HR Derby shit, instead of concentrating on improving your stroke, then that is "worthless".
Of course, Mac is working with him tirelessly I've been assured...

Yeah. Philthy announcers probably bitter because we wouldn't give them the farm for Hamels.

    sadly it's absolutely true
and it's the only reason someone his size can hit the ball so far
it's a powerful swing, but it has a lot of holes
ideally you'd someone down to the minors to work on shortening it
unfortunately we don't have that luxury as his cf defense is irreplaceable
but they better have him working on it all winter

Kinda didn't watch much of this game because of Raiders bullshit. But Greinke was pitching so I already knew we'd win.

    7-3 road trip. Not bad.

That was probably true of Joc through most of the season, but he's already made hitting the ball the other way more of a priority recently. His swing is looking a bit less psychotic too. Seems like he's never had to make adjustments before because his raw talent got him so far. He's working on it. I'm content with Joc in his ROOKIE season.

Man, Hanley was so awesome in that series. Joe Kelly is forever on my shit list for hitting him in his first at bat in the NLCS. Hanley was locked in and that fucked him up for the rest of the series.
