That's my loophole Fien can get optioned and then come back to only be used in blowouts. Hatcher doesn't have options remaining though. I could see him staying as a long man I guess
We do not need them. Anyone else will do at least as well. Anyone else can do what they do. Why waste a spot? The Brian Wilson effect.
Howie's making good on his contract now, so personally, my grade is back to a B- from a flat C. However, if they don't eventually get Puig out of this lineup they get docked 2 letter grades. And I don't give a damn how they do it. Trade, 60 day DL, snipe him coming out of a cantina, alien abduction, whatever, get it done. Call in Jason Bourne if they need to..he's back now
Exactly how I feel, think it doesn't take much to upgrade those spots. It doesn't need to be anything crazy either, just small upgrades there could be so beneficial.
+1 for... Friedman plucked Adam Liberatore from the Rays’ farm system and veteran reliever Joel Peralta, in exchange for Jose Dominguez and Greg Harris.
A couple have but the fact remains the depth wouldn't be so necessary if not for their OCD with damaged goods starters.
True. I think we're in a transition phase though and if this is the worse it gets, we're pretty fortunate. When you take the anger and emotion of fandom out of it and look at everything, they've probably done a B-/C+ job thus far.
that's about where i'm at i've been opposed trading urias + top prospects for sale, but i am warming up to it definitely against bruce wouldn't mind beltran
Urias for Sale is a no brainer. You do it before the Sox change their mind. It's who else is included that scares me. When you think of Garvey-Lopes-Russell-Cey...or see what the Cubs are doing...its scary to deal 3-4 position player prospects. Especially ones that are showing so much promise in positions of need as our vets near the end of their careers.
Yeah but fuck Greinke. The FO gets an A for not signing him to that ridiculous contract. Look at his ERA. He is not the pitcher he was with us last year. He has never been that pitcher other than last year. He is an ace and that is true, but not an ace that is near to Kershaw. Folks are hitting .252 off of him this year and that is his normal rate. Not the cy young like 1.87 clip he had with us last year.
same julio may never live up to expectations but you throw in 4-5 top prospects, chances are 1 or 2 will if they ask for julio and deleon, i'd say no
.467 W/L and 4.08 ERA versus .455 W/L and 4.11 ERA OK MehCarthy is better.. ever so slightly.. in all of his whopping 22 average annual innings
