Bellinger AND Braun would look pretty nice in the OF. So far Bellinger has only played 1B this year in AAA. There seems to be no urgency to bring him up.
Yeah, it's way too damn early to think about Bellinger, I was just fuckin around. They went an entire off-season without dealing for Braun, so I imagine a similar approach would be applied to bringing up Bellinger. At the end of the day it wasn't lefty problems that doomed them in the post..it was Blanton's sucka ass folding under the gun and giving up a MF bomb to Montero. But if they're ready to do this Braun thing, great..get cleanup hitter Puig outta here..can't even command more than 1 strike from Brett MF Anderson with the bases loaded. Shoot Puig outta here on that slingshot ride that made even DMX scared like a lil bkitch
last year bellinger had a .925 ops against lhp higher than he had against rhp but it's a small sample size and against minor league pitching will bellinger be able to hit mlb lefties? i'd like to think so but it's still too early to tell, and tbh not really relevant at this point bellinger is still raw and a ways away braun and his lifetime >1.000 ops against lhp is ready now that said i think both of them in the lineup against lhp is >>> than agon and svs braun would immediately make this offense significantly better against lhp do it nerds, do it know
I think that Bellinger and Verdugo cant be much worse than SVS and the other also ran 'lefty specialists'.
AGon has handled LHP well his entire career, he's even had several seasons where he hit lefties better than righties. Granted, he's not as good as he once was, but there should be no reason to sit him against Brett Anderson. I think the FO feeds our deficiency vs lefties.
Can't go at Dave because manager of the year and shit...but sometimes he's simply a pain in the ass. It's real slick to have the versatile players and think that they can play interchangeably with any other player, but that is horseshit. A big pile. Maybe he gets the word from above to do it that way regardless, but I think it's him. And the needing rest BS now after 9 games or whatever is total horseshit, too. If they are tired now in not even half April, then do some Red Bull or some shit. Get into a winning mode or attitude, or whatever you want to call it, because a good chunk of the replacements simply suck. Or at least , are a poor substitute. They just don't get it done. Last year it worked after the nice lead deep into the season, and the SF collapse, etc.,but can't we get a little established before the psycho chess game goes full tilt? Wtf are we getting out of it?
And also have a hard time believing Adrian would sit any games in the post season. With that said, yeah, I'd like to see him in there against LHP more often as well. Only thing I can think of is maybe they're just gonna ease him through this season with all his back stuff and asking for rest last year. Well, that or they just wanna give SVS a chance to fail and say " well, bub, we gave you a go and you sucked..BFF Kershaw can't save you anymore..peace. "
tbh there's no reason anyone on our roster, rh or lh, shouldn't handle brett anderson point taken on adrian, and i haven't forgotten that big hit he had against chapman in game 1 of the nlcs... before blanton shat himself
Toles/Trayce in RF, Joc/Trayce in CF, Braun in LF, simple 4 man OF..bring Segedin up to spell Adrian and Braun on occasions. Adrian would probably be pissed because I don't see them just throwing away Toles or Trayce, both able to play RF..which would mean that Bellinger would truly be aiming right for 1B when he's ready. And in that scenario, what was is that you said before, @BlueMouse?.." hide yo injuries " 1st injury Adrian suffers, he's...
Keep Adrian at 1B vs righties and Ryan Braun vs lefties. Keep Bellinger as an OF as long as possible. He can always go to 1B when Adrian or Ryan are done and in the meantime be the emergency backup 1B while still getting his regular at bats as a LF. Our OF defense will suck a bit if we have to use Braun in RF but it is doable. Because it will stack our offense big time.
Of course he should. Braun: LF/RF against righties, 1B against lefties Bellinger: LF/RF against lefties, spot starts vs righties. I really think we should offer up Toles instead of Puig because we need all the guys that can hit lefties. Puig is not hitting lefties this year but that will return to normal soon.
