What do they say... its could be a gold collar but its still a collar round your neck.
Then again... it is gold. And if you have a wonderful master it is not a chore to obey.
In fact, it is a pleasure.
    So... OBEY!

Brewers now have interest in Verlander
DET kicks in the money and they'll get him moved, if not this year then next
He's bounced back from down years multiple times in his career, would just really have to have a nice 1st half next season to stir up the market because of his pedigree
DET would more than likely pull him back

Probably having that wife has removed most of the hunger from his belly.
Needs the CK/Dodgers/Tommy motivation to go out and be a killer again.

Analogies dont work the way you keep thinking they do.
They are a starting off point. Or better yet they are a bridge to overcome a chasm of understanding.
If you take analogies a step or two further than the point that was being made you will get lost.

You said it, and its 100% true.
BTW, the word mortal means death-like.
Our minds can either be dead or alive, positive or negative, soaring or sulking, high or mundane.

analogies are supposed to have similarities
the better the similarity, the better the comparison
if little/no similarity, difficult/impossible to use as a valid comparison

Verlander isn't a move that I can see the FO making. Declining, getting paid a ton, etc. They'll probably surprise us per usual.

If this was 2012, trading for Verlander would be great. It isn't though, so fuck up already. He's shit. Go elite or go home.

DET could very well pull him back. But pulling him back for one year would cost them ~ $25 million. Not something that kills a team, but also not something you do without at least considering the alternative.

    • ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick classifies the Dodgers’ interest in Orioles closer Zach Britton as “legitimate” but notes that they’re a bit cautious due to his 2017 forearm issues.
