More than agree, they spend on their draft, they take risks and they develop position players so well.
Really the only name I would want out there is Cliff Lee and that contract scares the bejeezus out of me. Also if DiPoto wanted Wacha for Aybar just imagine what he wants for Kendrick? I'm totally fine with standing pat and seeing if anything pops up during the waiver period.
Amaro's arrogance is going to keep the Phillies in 4th place for awhile when the Mets actually get good again.
I really don't get it. Phillies overall talent is on the backend of organizations although they got a boost when they acquired MAG. Now guys they were counting on like Tommy Joseph have been injured and underwhelming. Personally I would of taken this opportunity to free up some cash and get at least two top tier prospects in your system. As it stands now they are handcuffing themselves for awhile.
This trade deadline sucks but th silver lining is that it looks like no other NL playoff bound teams are going to improve themselves
I mean, Bud Norris is the most exciting thing that might happen today lol I was hoping Pitt would obtain a bat
While it would hurt my fantasy team, I wouldn't mind Ned going getting a bullpen arm like Tom Wilhelmsen. Still think they need one more arm, ideally one that can occasionally close.
Idk who else they have that is realistic at the moment. They've traded Crain/Peavy/Thortnon which is the most selling any team has done, and idk who else they could trade. Maybe some relievers but i doubt they are getting much action for them. And Rios being hurt kind of fucked up there plans, but maybe that is a waiver deal. To me, it's strange some other teams haven't sold anything at all. Padres, Phillies, Mets, Royals, Toronto, Milwaukee and the such should be selling pretty badly and instead in a thin market are just staying put.
Adam Rubin @AdamRubinESPN3mDerrick Goold of St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes Cards are being forced to poke around in catching market because of Yadier Molina injury. Greatest tweet ever? I think so.
