We'll see if the DFA comes, reporters saying " he may clear waivers "
That'd be crazy, both Puig and Uribe DFA'd within days of each other

Wouldn't go that far. Toles earned this and Taylor is an infielder. I mentioned Kike and SVS because they are both listed as O'fers.

Kike and SVS can play both infield and out field, and with Reddick in the lineup, maybe Puig's inconsistency and experience only in right field was something they were thinking about. Who knows.

I mean it doesn't have to be a permanent move. The way this team has been bit by the injury bug, Puig might be called up tomorrow.

This is the bullshit that many of us are pissed about. Yes the dude has his flaws, but so much of this shit is media driven. This is not the first time that the media has come down on him only to learn later that, "oh wait, no he acted properly!". It drives the perception and frustrations with him beyond the box score. So Puig is getting crushed by the media for being a punk, meanwhile he is at home (or the airport) as instructed and liking Instagram photos from Dodgers fans. This shit is fucking absurd. Now he better go to OKC and work on the kinks, I don't like backing dudes that are D'bags.

Something bad in the clubhouse? Yeah, that'd make sense of this but there's been zero reports of anything bad this year and even last year and someone would've leaked it if something bad was happening in there cause that shit always leaks when it comes to him

Not sure what's going on, but it all seems pretty fucking stupid.

He should still have options right? Just a straight demotion would do

I mean that's all I can come up with.
But maybe it's not necessarily a clubhouse thing or that he's been a problem in there.
Meaning, like we were just sitting here talking about who's going to the bench now that Reddick's aboard and so many of you pointed at Chase...maybe the buck stopped there and that Chase and Howie are too respected to be replaced by one Yasiel Puig and they don't like him in a reserve role much?
Or maybe like CKWG is clinging to, maybe they just want him to " fix his swing "...which would be weird to me because I'm getting Puig's stats since coming back thrown at me left and right and they are good, so why are we fixing anything?

Honestly I've lost a lot of respect for management. He hasn't bitched or pouted, and he is still better than Chrsi Taylor and Van Slyke, and Toles, probably Utley at this juncture too. He should be on the 25 man, easily

Yup he does, but again, I'm not gonna be surprised or blame him much if he's bothered by the demotion and holds a grudge

To me, I see 3 reasons why this happened I guess:
    1) there's something large missing from the story where Puig did something that deserves a demotion [ill say this is not likely at the moment cause we'd hear bout it by now]
    2) Dodgers really think Puig is an inferior option to SVS, Enrique, etc. [the most baffling explanation IMO]
    3) Dodgers want Puig to work on something specific in the minors and he has a bit of an understanding on what it is, and he'll be back up after a couple weeks

I know you've all been waiting with bated breath (well...it smells like bait) on my opinions of the moves made today. Here goes.

Don't like the Hill/Reddick swap. We gave too much. Hill won't continue to produce at this level and Reddick is a platoon guy. A year from now (give or take) the FO will be saying 'wtf were we thinking?'. IMO those same 3 prospects would have netted a bigger haul in the off season. At no time did I say they won't help us, just said we gave up too much.

Gnats & Moore - he's a better pitcher than most people think. Whether they gave too much is opinion. But he will be an anchor on that staff.

Chavez and Fields - minimal help for a tired pen. Any innings they eat will help in the long run, and we didn't give up anything of note.

Rangers - needed pitching, got hitting.

Simple answer: You don't know that we wanted him.

And again, last season at the end when he was struggling and getting hurt (similar to right now) he was on the bench and fine with it, said the typical cliches about helping the team so it's not like it's crazy to think he'd be fine with being a bench player til he proved otherwise

Yeah, he still has options. They will try to pass him through waivers like they do with every player, just be ready for "OMG THE DODGERS PUT PUIG ON WAIVERS" stories in about a week. My hope is that they see something in his swing that they need him to get regular AB's with(like Ward said), so they are sending him to OKC, probably with the roaming hitting instructor, while also getting him used to LF for September. We shall see... Let's also not forget that he was just replaced on the roster by a guy who gets hurt about as often as Puig does.

LF, that's would make him arm less useful. He's a good defender, at least this year. Put Reddick there, not Puig

They could've traded any one of these guys to open up a bench spot for Puig.
Still reading between the lines on the " traded or demoted " thing here.
They shopped him, were cool with moving on without him.
