There is more to this story.

Something tells me part of his storming off is one of the reasons they couldn't trade him. He was probably already gone.

I dunno. Something tells me we will know more in a few hours.

I don't get why it's labeled as "storming off" if they didn't want him on the plane to begin with? Like, it's not news that he's not on the plane, cause that's what they wanted. Question is, why did they want that?

Mad, sure, but be a pro and do what the club asks of you at the end of the day.
If it's a club that doesn't want you around, accept that, keep making your money, and do what they asks of you until they move you.
Again, they trust SVS and Kike in these roles more than Puig, and let's be frank, those 2 guys are just liked more than Puig and that goes a long way to what they're trying to do as well.
Trying to have the culture that they wanna have.
I never understood this moving Howie to 2B stuff..leave that pro alone and the same goes for Utley.
Gonna jumble stuff around for Puig? Nah.
    They are winning without Puig.
Hell, they are winning without CK...make positive additions to it, not negative.

Here's a novel concept........let's wait until all the facts of the story are known before we pass judgement.

It's about the timing. When was he told this. This morning? An hour before the deadline?

I agree though. It's freaking Fox Sports. Who knows what the truth is. We'll get more facts as we move along.

    Possibly.
But I mean he knew that they didn't want him around anymore in general it seems.
And he just answered questions in a " professional manner " about the trade rumors a day or two ago.
So, I dunno, maybe he thought he was going to the CHISox with his buddy Abreu and once that fell apart and AAA was his reality, maybe he said " fuck that, I'm going home " when faced with OKC over Chicago?
It'll definitely be interesting to see what really happened..if we even get a glimpse here.
But overall, I'm happy...I want my order to have trusted guys top to bottom.
Yasmani and Joc are still hit or miss ( they both look better, but I'd still split them up in the order if I were DR)

This is weird... on the heels of what Ward said the other day too made me think a demotion could be in order to refine his mechanics at the plate. Though you could also say Joc needs the same thing as his swing is different practically every night. Honestly, this sounds like a "we tried to trade you, couldn't find a taker, so go to AAA and fix your shit, but you're gone anyway." That is the only reason for him to really storm off. Though this looks bad by all parties.

Just red about Josh Fields acquisition......not sure why we gave up a 19yr old Cuban OF/1b for a average to below average reliever????

That's why I think something else is going on.

Even the LA Times story today suggested Puig knew he was a trade target and at least sounded professional about it. So him to be upset by a trade or non trade doesn't make sense.

But I could see him being angry at being demoted. The question is the timing. Just odd.

Honestly though, he does need to go down and fix his swing. If he's not capable or is unwilling to fix them, the major leagues is not the place to just languish around.

Maybe he wouldn't buy that " no takers " part?
Unless we're being lied to, it'd seem as though the CHISox want him and I know they aren't supposed to talk about this stuff, but I find it hard to believe that he and Abreu haven't spoken.
Not that Abreu has any power, but maybe he'd be asked or have knowledge about the CHISox interest?
Maybe the price tag is the issue?
That'd piss me off if the price tag was what kept me from going to Chicago over OKC...I'd still carry my ass to OKC tho

He's been really good in the PCL this year. Scouts may have seen something they felt they could work with or fix. I don't know them well, but it seems like Houston really struggles with its pitching development. He is probably insurance if a Wood, Urias, De Leon, etc... can't work things out in the pen, which is possible as the team did just jettison two potential September relievers. Though I agree, that seemed like a hefty price who a lot of scouts liked more than our other Cuban buys.

The FO probably should have told puig you're either getting traded or sent to the minors. He probably wouldn't have liked it then either but I think that's better than telling him as he shows up to leave on a team flight. But then again this decision was probably made right after they acquired reddick so who knows.

And puig has never acted like a professional since becoming one so for us to think he acted any different this time around, shame on us.

Maybe something as simple as throwing a tantrum about the Reddick acquisition?

He probably saw SVS board the plane and said that guy over me? LOL.
