Why AJ would swing at that a low pitch like that with a runner on baffles me. But SVS fucked us over this game. Still can't be averaging one run against a bum with 4 ERA.
I have a complaint that might sound petty but fuck it. Watch the replay of that great catch by Jon Jay. Look how Kemp leisurely strolls back to 1B. I'm not the guy that wants these guys to run through walls every time and over 162 jogging when need be doesn't irk me. But this play was one that he coulda gotten hurt like he did last time where he went so slow he had to accelerate last second to make up for it in almost an awkward way. He got hurt doing that before, how does he not fucking learn? Just go back to the bag a bit quicker pace and you don't have to do that. Maybe it's petty but fuck, he does the same things to hurt himself, I don't want to see him hurt on something avoidable End rant. Go dodgers
sad part is my MLB.tv froze right as AJ was swinging and I saw the pitch and was like "oh fuck, that's going to be a DP." and Sure enough it was.
So what exactly was Kemp supposed to do. He knew he could get back to first fairly easily and he did.
I don't know. Like I said it's petty and probably just frustration outta me but when I saw it live I got scared of his last "make up for it" acceleration to get back to bag, getting there now sprinting but a good pace idk.
i was at the game wondering why hanram wasn't hitting in place of ellis. maybe ddb was planning ahead.
I agree....but what good does it do when you've got a 240 lb. madman rushing at you at top speed to be the "captain" out there? It's not like that lunatic is going to stop. Calling him off means nothing. Personally I think SVS does make that catch, without the Puig proximity. I think he had it all the way, and at the last minute Puig slowed him up and he changed his route. You have your opinion on it, I have mine. I saw it that way and I looked at it several times. I've seen Puig make other players indecisive with his unwillingness to back off for the player who should be making the catch, IF included. Whatever it was, it was a fucked up way to lose a game to this "great team". And I posted the other day, no matter whose fault it was, you need a bonafide CF on your team, or sooner or later, or it will cost you....big time. Again and again.
We knew AGon was only a fringe .800 Opsing 1st baseman which isn't anything special at all. It was stupid to not sign Abreu but we have NedCo leading the way so it makes sense.
sitting in my seat i just couldn't understand why that ball wasn't caught and i was only watching svs. i'm sure that this could have figured into it.
It'll never happen, but moving Adrian also allows you to call up Joc Put Ethier/SVS at 1B (although Ethier would be a downgrade offensively/defensively) but still, we get a real CF and can then find someone for 1B
