Gordon seems like the perfect player to use in the LaRussa lineup, bat the pitcher 8th and Dee 9th. I'd probably do that and move Gwynn to lead-off.
here's my beef with Dee doesn't try to utilize his speed to his advantage rarely bunts, and too often hits the ball in the air that fluke HR in Colorado was the worst thing that could have happened and shame on the coaching staff for not getting on him about it he should lay down a bunt a minimum of once a game
