Dodgers need to think hard about turning this team over to prospects and see which ones prove they belong. Toles, Joc and Verdugo need to start in the OF. Kemp and Puig are less important going forward and between the 5 should have enough at-bats to go around. Puig might be the odd man out as his contract will be up. Better to suppress his value by having him not play every day. Taylor at SS is fine as long as his production is descent, but I dont know if he should be leading off until he can prove he is the same player as last year. Kike and Utley should split time at 2B with Kike taking more of the at bats as the season progresses and he proves he can hit righties not just kill lefties. Bring up Edwin Rios and play him at 3B, live with the errors. He might turn himself into a better trade chip once people see him hit well enough to be a 1B. Bring up Urias once he is ready and give him a job. Get more young pitching up and run a 6 man rotation so nobody gets overextended. Let Yimi and Liberatore and other guys like that get their old jobs back from the new FA brought in to relieve. Write this season off. Then when the team starts to gel and gets hot and makes the Wild Card there will be no more of the previous division winning WS making pressure. So we can go win it.
forfeit in terms of expectations of the FO making a big trade for a Manny Machado type or big arms. but not forfeit from the terms of the players on the team coming back once healed up and helping the healthy players and the prospects get to the WS again. Its 88 again. Maybe we trade Puig for a reliever to help us make it to the playoffs like we did Guerrero in 88. Puig + Kemp + Baez for Josh Donaldson, Kevin Pillar, and Roberto Osuna. Pillar and Osuna can face the music in LA. We take all their deplorables plus Donaldson who is going to look to leave them anyway. CF: Pillar 2B: Turner 3B: Donaldson 1B: Bellinger RF: Verdugo LF: Toles SS: Taylor till Seager gets back C : Grandal/Barnes
Kemp finally does something of note against the DBacks this year Only the 11th time he's seen them Hopefully others wake up as well
I haven’t felt the hopelessness in an AB I feel about Muncy since like, Garrett Anderson or Eugenia Velez
Hill's curve is working? I don't think so...not to mention 50 pitches in 2.2 innings...we'll see our bottom dwelling bp early again for sure. What a fucking utter collapse.
