Just a word about that guy Kershaw...that was pretty damn impressive last night. And the Angels were scheduled to scramble his eggs. But somehow, didn't.
But he did give up a home run to Rendon, and did all that other bad shit here and there, whenever.
So never mind about that performance last night.
    Remember the Alamo !

I think that Pujols made contact with that pitch perpendicular at about his ear, really.

Hit 94 in his final inning. Could have gone another easily. No need, though.

A couple things about Kershaw last night. His velo average was 92.5 MPH last night. That was both the highest avg for a game and his hardest thrown ball since Game 7 of the 2017 WS. He is currently avg'ing his highest mark for a year since that 17 season, but it is still early. Thing is he is still a full tick down from what he was and averaged in his prime from 2010-2017. It will be interesting to see as he gets further along if he can find more velo with his new training regiment. He was doing a great job of altering the speed of his slider and it completely befuddled the Angels. That was a great game to watch, but there are gonna be guys that have his number in every lineup it seems. Rendon wasn't fooled by him at all and there appear to be a number of players that are very comfortable in the box against him these days. He is going to have games like last night where everything is working, but for every game like last night there will probably be a stinker since he is relying more and more on needing all 3 of his pitches to be working to be dominant. Really hope as he gets further away from the back injury and gets built up, he starts to gain more velo. Getting back to where 93 is the average could be a giant step.

He was hitting his spots, too. The velocity won't matter much if he's not controlling the strike zone. That said, the increased velocity gives him a little more margin for error.

Almost looked like he was pitching scared of Rendon. On the other hand, he has few problems with Trout. Go figure.

I thought it was very obvious that he was pitching around Rendon last night. I believe the last 4 plate appearances against him have been HR(G5), BB, HR, BB. Rendon seems very at home in the box against Kersh.

He's been pretty damned comfortable against most pitchers the past few years. But the Dodgers have handled him pretty well.

I can’t get enough Betts-Seager at the top of the lineup. Seager is back in the field and Muncy’s first time at 3B this season?

Will Smith is still out with neck stiffness. Reports from a day ago said that a stint on the IL was not out of the question for Smith.

Rocky Gale and Keibert Ruiz are the other 2 catchers on the 60-man roster, and if Will Smith is sent to the IL, one of the two would likely get moved up. Eric Stephen on Twitter mentioned the familiarity of Ruiz with Dustin May from their time together at AAA. May starts on Sunday.

Will Smith placed on the 10-day IL. Ruiz called up and is expected to start tomorrow.

Holy fuck, absolute garbage zone. Buehler is throwing some great pitches and this chump is missing them all.

Well, I don't exactly know about that...maybe in your lifetime so far, young brother.
But more importantly, why do you love Buehler so much ?

Did Buehler just say something to the ump as they walked off the field?
