Right, I don't think he's good to be honest. But most of that is cause he's god AWFUL against righties. I think his stuff can be used better against lefties where he can be a good enough LOOGY. Today was probably just about getting his feet wet, but after this once they can use him more as a specialist, I'll bet they use him as more of a LOOGY. A mid 90's fastball and slider he can bury will give a lot of lefties trouble.
Totally agree. Low leverage situation. Have ZERO problem using him today. Honeycutt can now see some flaws in delivery in a game situation instead of a bully session.
to add to Cingrani: His fastball isn't that good of a pitch on its own, but his slider is good. He can't use his slider as much against a righty and has to use the fastball more, which is why righties crush it. I'm not a pitching coach or a scout but do think a lefty with that combo is usually a good LOOGY. Never want to see him face a righty in an important spot (and he won't in the playoffs, I'll kill Dave if he does). For a better explanation of why I'm saying all this, read this article: http://www.ocregister.com/2017/08/0...ngrani-could-get-an-analytics-based-makeover/
Faith the size of a mustard seed can do quite a bit. But not enough for Cingrani. Kirk Cameron likes this
Seriously. What's with the green walls and seats? I swear every ballpark since Camden was built the same.
Creativity and aeshetics of the ballpark are way down in the priority order for these new parks. The #1 priority is finances and making sure it gets built in time to get that taxpayer dollar and get the revenue flowing. So, the design process doesn't take long when they don't mind a copy/paste job.
It's so bad. Sun Trust park is a physical manifestation of the "let me speak to your manager" haircut.
At least Cingrani was able to steady the ship and saved Kenley from a needless appearance. I'll give him that.
Old Man River Gonzalez > Logan "Take em down the middle" Forsythe. I hope his rehab goes well so CT3 can take 2B and CB can take LF. If Gonzo hits one of his streaky strides in October we'll be scarier than Jaws in '75!
