Theres never been a time watching baseball and reading comments on either here or reddit where someone doesn't complain about how the announcers hate their team. Buck isn't the best, but I think now people just hate him just to hate him.
i actually like buck humble and seems to do his homework and like vrp said, he has a good sense of humor and can be self-deprecating would probably help if he were paired with a better partner [no homo] can only do so much with mccarver and smoltz bombasting away
Bill Shaikin @BillShaikin Gio Gonzalez will be making his first appearance in 12 days. He did not face the Dodgers this season. Miley did, and pitched 13 innings without giving up an earned run
Bill Shaikin @BillShaikin Christian Yelich on growing up going to games at Dodger Stadium: “I think I was at the game when Gagne blew his save streak.” You'll also be at the game(s) Hader blows, bkitch
anyone familiar with roku? can i watch the lcs and ws, good, hard to hook up, etc at&t gave it to us free for a billing fuck up #whiteprivilege
Didn't mean to chastise. Everyone is entitled...even Smoltz, lol. Just don't get it...but that's perhaps my shortcoming. Amongst many... One man's meat is another man's poison, I guess.
Roku works nicely. Yes, you can stream the LCS and World Series. Get a free trial or 1 month sub to SlingTV or DirectTV Now Both of those services stream on Roku and carry FSI, TBS, and FOX Make sure you're using an Ethernet connection though to get a clean stream Note there will likely be a 1 minute+ delay on these apps. I used Sling to 'watch' the first few innings while I was commuting home from work (way out in Temecula at that time) during last years postseason. It worked nicely but the delay caused me to miss Kike's big HR that broke the game open. I turned on the TV when I got home and the cable feed was far ahead of Sling.
ok i love this conversation since i'm pulling the plug on twc i use netflix and am slowly realizing there is only shit on the other channels for the most part so w the amazon fire stick i can still watch the post?
I'm in the same boat. Is there a way to watch these games live? I have fire stick and I think roku too. Mostly my wife uses them to watch off netflix and amazon prime. I'm not much of a TV guy so I don't have a good grasp on their capabilities. Is anyone using either to watch live sports? Is there a subscription required?
Yes, Amazon Firestick is the same deal as Roku. As long as you subscribe to a service that streams the games live, you'll be good to go. I'm sure there are free trials for Sling, DirectTV Now, etc. This works perfectly for the postseason because all the games are on channels carried by these services (TBS, FS1, MLB Network, FOX). In the regular season, you have to be more creative because of the RSNs. Also, for the World Series, you can still get the game with a digital antenna.
won't the WS be on fox as well? also what would you recommend for a subscription service and approx how much is that? thanks for the info might wait until our season is over to pull the plug do you only subscribe to watch the games and then cancel the remainder of the year?
Yes, all 7 games of the World Series are on regular Fox (KTTV), which means it is available over the air. No subscription, no roku's, no cable required. One time purchase of a digital antenna that connects to your TV via coax with adapter or directly with HDMI. I think...never used one. For Sling TV, you're gonna want to get "Sling Blue" which is $25.00 /mo and includes all the channels the post season is on. It will run nicely on your Roku. Honestly though, I would just keep your cable or satellite that you have now and make a change during the off-season. There are a lot of great ways to cut the cord, but everybody has different needs in terms of what content they watch, whether they want DVR capability, where they're located, what providers and internet speeds are available, etc. Etc. Sometimes it is a big money saver and sometimes it's not. It depends and requires more thought to truly save enough money for the trouble.
I think it's a huge mistake taking Ryu out of DS. Counsel starting with left handers was smart and frankly obvious. Anybody out there can allay my fears with our success against lefthanders lately or are we screwed.
really appreciate it i tried once before and thought it was cumbersome but have gotten somewhat used to it not to mention i just feel like the tv is noise beyond the games Dodgers/Lakers its like a pacifier and i just need to get away from it not to mention that $175 a month bullshit if i'm $50 on internet and spend another $40 for services i'm still way ahead other than better call saul there is very little i even try to watch and yet a marathon of cops will keep my tv on its madness i like dvr but haven't had one for a year and don't miss it i've heard about the antenna being a good $100 investment as well as getting the stick unlocked
I get that Ryu has a huge difference in Dodger Stadium and road but... so does Buehler. It's pretty similar actually. So, it comes down to who they think can do better on the road and I don't fault them with going with Ryu
