The starting pitching has definitely stepped it up since I posted that thread, which is a great sign. But yeah, we aren't going anywhere with this offense. I'm always shocked when we get things going. I just have no confidence in them. I used to have hopes when players like Puig came up to bat, but now I just assume it's going to be an out
and the BP is starting to hold the line i think a quality bat could wake us up but where thats coming from is anyones guess

Someone like a Machado, Arenado, Trout? The former two are both in contract years so it's hard to envision trading a lot of top prospects for a potential rental. But there are definitely people we should be targeting in FA notwithstanding the fact that they'll turn down arbitration and we'll have to give up a pick.
Puig was that once. Folks that hate puig also hated manny. Of course they tolerate them as long as they are mvp caliber players and putting the team on their back for impressive second half runs to the playoffs. So why not another guy that will be hated in 2 years time. How bout Hanley... oh wait.
I suppose. But even 2 years ago when Puig had his best season, he was never a completely dominant hitter that I think we are sorely missing.
as much as it sucks to say it maybe they should start looking at the model to the north that seems to work pretty fucking well why is it only other teams get consistent gamers?
