I think the pitchers have finally realized that you just have to throw strikes to him and he's a non-threat. Just like they did with Abreu, Pierre and Gordon. AJ got by with trying to take a walk all the time while pitchers nibbled. Now they just go after him.

I just saw the replay. Jansen should have a metal rod inserted through his entire body, and hung over a fire to roast. Pig style. What a fucking moron.

1.) Turns back on runner at third.

2.) Overthrows Ellis.

Fuck you, Jansen. If it's not already bad enough that you forgot about the tying run on third, you proceed to overthrow the catcher where a good throw wins the game.

3.) You don't cover home.

I hope you can never pitch in another baseball game again. Ever. In your life. Not because of an injury, not because of you dying, but the baseball gods have stricken you to baseball hell with Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and Alex Rodriguez because your stupid, cunt, ass couldn't cover home plate. Awesome game from Ethier, and meh game from Harang. But, I guess Harang gets the benefit of the doubt by most here to give up leads

 

Mark Ellis hit a HR in the first game, Ethier in the 2nd game... it's someone elses turn to hit a HR back from injury....

 

Bills scratched today due to injury, I know ppl might be happy but that sucks if it's something serious. Maybe it was Injury to do with his bad first half (or maybe it was his .366 babip) but I hope it's nothing serious

 

Stop defending our players all the fucking time. Shit is annoying. What Jansen did was totally inexcusable. It's baseball. Anything can happen. Not only was he asleep, but turning his back to the play completely took him out of it. At some point you need to realize that these are major league players and some accountability needs to be shown. Jansen completely fucked up. You're always supposed to be in the game. Whether he was expecting it or not, he lost the game for us. It's not even the steal of home that I was pissed about. I could accept 1 run and move on; but to not cover home?? Especially in that situation? That's little league bro. I know Jansen has been great, but he deserves some hate every once in awhile too. C'mon. Irish, this game isn't on Harang. Our BP gave up 3 runs in two innings.

It's a game thread guys, you can only hate players... not want them on this team. Also, it's funny that you are more mad that he didn't cover home than the initial falling asleep. The umpire clearly called the guy out, which stopped Jansen. Yeah, you should never assume but I think most if not all pitchers would be thrown off by a guy making a clear out call.

And Irish is right in putting some blame on Harang. If that was Bills or CK who gave up leads, than they are right next to Jansen being roasted to eat

It was a freak play and Jansen was wrong in falling asleep, like he admitted. If he does it again and often, then that's beyond terrible. But like Irish said, give the Padres credit for having the balls to do it. If the ball is an inch lower, everyone is laughing at the Padres for doing that. I mean, totally, a stolen base of home with two strikes and two outs is super expected right?

Well, I mean even I could tell from the replay that the ball went back to the screen. I'm not saying it's expected, and it sucks it had to happen to us, but you have to cover home though. The falling asleep thing can be excused like you said because it doesn't happen multiple times. But I'm not buying the fact that the umpire made an out gesture distracted Jansen. If you're throwing a ball to someone, you can easily see if it gets passed them. Not covering home is like I said, a little league mistake.

Jansen lost the game for us last night, plain and simple. DOTD for a week for that shit. No excuse to lose like that. If he was an apprentice, he'd be fired.

 

I hope Uribe at short is a typo. How is that fat slob going to have any range?
