The more I watch this team, the more I just don't like the way it has been handled this year. I think they are trying to skate around the shortened spring training and not get anyone hurt. At the same time it sure feels like development of our young guys is going to be stunted. Seriously, start stretching the starters out for fuck's sake. Let May and Gonsolin go to 100 pitches. When a starter is cruising, let me him begin the next inning at least even if he's at 90 damned pitches.

The bullpen game yesterday had a great result, but jesus motherfucking christ, Mitch White was available and he threw a Alt-Site sim game instead to line him up for a start in 5 days! WHY!?! May is hurting, Buehler is on the DL. Maybe none of the kids are looking great at the Alt Site, but there are 15 fucking games left in the season. We may need to figure out who else could start and get us 3+ innings!

Hernandez and Taylor somewhat quietly have been on tears, which is great, but Muncy, Belli and Joc turning back into pumpkins is a killer to our offense. Lux has a great game then he himself reverts to garbage AB's again. Can't believe how awful our lefty bats have looked outside of Seager.

Stop using Kenley in the god damned 9th. Everyone saw that collapse coming from a mile away. Graterol should be getting the 9th. He's dominant and unlike Kenley, when people make contact with him, it is very weak contact. Treinen and McGee get the 7th/8th, Kolarek/Kenley/Baez/Floro get 4/5/6 and can be used in emergency 1-2 batter roles later in the game if the starter can get us 4+.

Roberts the other night gave me playoff flashbacks with his slow trigger. He still just does not learn his lessons with "his guys". I swear if our postseason is ended from another one of his bullpen blunders, I may have an aneurysm.

We can downplay the importance of this series, but the division win streak does matter to me. This series will, in all likelihood, decide the division. The Padres have a cake schedule after this and could easily end the season on a 9-0 run, so if they knock our lead down to 1.5 games we might as well consider the division lost. If we take 2 out of 3 our lead is a comfortable 3.5 games with us holding the tie-breaker, which means we should cruise to an 8th straight NL West title.

Couldn't agree more with the first paragraph. Quit coddling the young starters.

    agree with @ColoradoKidWitGame 100%
take the fucken training wheels off the kids and let them pitch the 6th, 7th
this is the perfect time to extend them and let the pen replenish
    roberts is such a tool...
he’ll have a quick hook for gonsolin or urias, and then leave a reliever out there who doesn’t have it forever

    " Playoff flashbacks ",indeed...
Me too, but it's more than flashbacks with me.
More like a vivid, recurring nightmare.

    Betts 9 Seager DH Pederson 7 Muncy 3 Taylor 6 Bellinger 8 Ríos 5 Lux 4 Barnes 2

Lamet has a nice fastball/backfoot slider combo that I hope our lefties can adjust against and crush

was just gonna say " I actually think Lamet is a good matchup for Joc" and looks like he's had (very limited) success against him. We really need him, Bellinger, and Muncy not to be great but at least be average. Muncy needs to take his walks and show power, Bellinger the same, and Joc we just need him to be a power threat but they all can't look like fools out there

Sad that I have more faith in our backup SS than Joc and Muncy, who I also have more faith in than last year's MVP.

Saddest of all but I just did ten pushups. It wasn't pretty.

Y'all should have more faith in last year's MVP than in my lard ass to do ten more.

But you don't. And that's fucked up.

Maybe another offseason at Driveline can get him back up to 94-95?! DeGrom is the same age and he's pumping 99 consistently.
