    And obviously, we never do.
Incapable of being brought to that peak and getting the most from what we have as others do.
We can win the division, have the MVP, the ERA leader, the SB leader, The RBI leader, best team ERA, etc. but when the chips are down, we fold like the French Army. Those individual stats can carry a team to the post almost assuredly every year, but it is leadeship and BB savvy that gets the rings...and unfortunately the former aspect will keep that fascade of leadership around, again and again. Catch 22.
This is what I have seen many times, and to turn heads away from it and pretend it isn't so, is, IMO, just folly. But as fans, we do every season...
This year is shaping up much that way, with Zack and all-stars abound, but one thing stays the same.
I hope it's different this time.

Definitely not a surprise if it is having an impact. There are positives that can come out of it all and obviously negatives as well. On one end, you get guys competing everyday because they know they have to earn their keep to remain with the club, but on the other end is the scenario you've mentioned where ensuing moves wear on clubhouse. And it's a group of free agent additions/guys they traded as well, so there's no homegrown/loyalty feel, or at least there shouldn't be for most of them. There are exceptions.

Same thing I said. Turner's got 1 inning of LF under his belt in his career...he needs more work there. He's certainly not the most athletic, but I'd like to see what a Turner/SVS combo in LF can do when Olivera comes up. Turner getting most of the starts with SVS coming off the bench for defensive purposes later in the games...they could make for a nice pairing. Unless of course they flip Olivera into LF, which would be a surprise. Something's gotta give, though.

if they want to get it right, they should have two "umps"
one watching [and calling] when the ball drops, the other making sure people don't cheat
of course that might take the fun out of it but whatev

they had one behind home plate who raised his arm and when the ball dropped he put his arm down. Pitcher was still throwing before and he didn't do anything about it.
