I could replace him; legit. He is GREAT at Dodgers games, but not so good for USC games, which he started a few years ago.
Grandal in the 6 spot as a righty..shaky. The rest of the order looks reasonable..3-4-5 moves up a spot with Crawford out and SVS in @ 5. Maybe they'll flip flop HK and SVS at times against lefties. Heaney..meh.
This sucks. He's really the only stadium voice I've known. Started going to games in 2003. It won't be the same.
"could not fulfill the season schedule because of other commitments," according to the Dodgers. Sounds like the Dodgers fired him. This is gonna be so weird I'm starting to despise Guggenheim. Can't watch the games on my TV and can't hear Smith at the stadium. The franchise is in a lot better shape but what's the point if we can't watch without jumping through hoops.?
Why would I? Anyone putting someone with SEVEN home runs last season in the cleanup spot deserves to lose. Even if it's a ST game. This will be one of many stupid lineups written by the idiot manager. You have Grandal. SVS. Hell, even Juan Urine....Guys with actual Power and you put HK there? No need to wonder why they got shut out. Unless you're one of the last standing Donnie Dum Dum flufffers.
You guys are making too much out of a PA guy IMHO. I remember Ross Porter doing it last opening day. I loved Ross but even as a PA he managed to squeeze in stats during introductions. It was weird.
Well we attend a lot of games and he was part of the ambiance Dodger Stadium. He had a pretty unique style. You also have to keep in mind a lot of us were pretty young when he started so we associate that voice with many memories of being at the ballpark.
The Dodgers MLB bullpen starting to get clearer as to what is going on: We know that Hatcher, Peralta, and JP have made the team. One more lefty will (probably Paco over Liberatore, but we'll see Liberatore soon enough I'd say). Mike Adams and Sergio Santos haven't made the team. So we have 3 more spots that aren't as clear. Hope some of the veterans guys can be stashed in the minors cause we're gonna need all the bullpen depth we can get.
You are seriously advocating hitting SVS and Juan fucken Uribe hitting fourth over Howie? I don't usually agree with b2b, but Howie could hit fourth and do it very well. I personally like the idea of Puig, Gonzalez, and Kendrick being 3-4-5, but Howie could easily be our cleanup hitter if Mattingly decides Puig hits second.
Smith left his mark. Andreee Eeeethier! (Rolling R) Rrrrrrrrrrafiel Furcal! CLAY-TON KER-SHAW! I remember loving how he pronounced Juan Encarnacion's name of all people.
