Uribe actually turned out OK.

Schmidt was a steaming pile.

Velez was good for laughs with his ofer.

The others I could less about, even Kent who was a dick, but could play.

Romo, Bfuck and Wilson were (or are) repugnant.

 

Stras is probably better suited for the NY market and stress level. Cole could do his Machado thing..grab $250M+ and go on vacation in SD. Not sure which Cole anybody gets w/o Strom at the controls.

But as you mentioned, neither will really be of much interest to LAD. LAD will chase more washed names..probably Hamels or Arrieta. And the fucked up part is both of those guys will join and perform better than Kersh in the post, but will have to slot in behind him because he's homegrown

 

I was on the get Madbum bandwagon at the deadline. Still am, but I have to acknowledge he's not the same pitcher he once was. That said, if anyone could get him back on track it would be Honeycutt. But like @Fall Winslow said, anyone we get would be slotted behind Kershaw because of the undue reverence they give him.

 

And BTW, if we lose to Washington Friedman should lose his job. I don't care how good a job he's done building/maintaining the farm or keeping the team under the cap. He has one job, and that's to build us a ws winner. I realize the postseason is a crapshoot, but where exactly did he improve the team from last year. And his arrogance in trying to also do the GM job himself instead of hiring someone may have cost the team dearly. Fuck him.

 

If Friedman has the keys to the vault and just won't open it, fire him. But if Guggs is handcuffing him, then I can't get behind firing him.

Besides, he'd just go home to Houston and join that FO and really rape the Dodgers. Keep that MF where we can see him

 

I don't care who wins between the Braves and Cardinals. I hate them both equally. Doesn't really matter though since we won't be playing them.

 

From what we know..what Kasten said about attendance, and him being prez and the mouthpiece for ownership, I'm thinking it's on Guggs. We do know that several of the owners were reportedly tired of the luxury tax. Shit sucks, but it seems they don't care. They tried to fool everybody into thinking they did care because of Magic's presence and what he means to winning in Los Angeles, but time reveals all.

Passing on Harper was it for me. I don't give a damn what he wanted $ wise. Add him if he gives you a talent that can handle strong pitching and increase the chances of winning big, and what does he do this season? 1.194 OPS VS Strasburg and really just raked against all of the Nats' starters. Sign him to whatever, win the damn WS, and then trade him if you have to. Red Sox are looking to do the same with JD Martinez this offseason. You have a hell of a farm..somebody would take Bryce Harper and that money, especially if combined with another spec or two. But to do that you have to give a fuck..and we know they don't lend any fucks
