Im not looking for a game changer, just a productive C in a fast moving offense. As well, if we move Mozgov we get some more financial flexibility for next years FA crop. Mitch and Jimmy screwed us with Mozvov and Deng.
Fuck the lottery. I prefer to remember the Lakers are the premier franchise in the sport. That said........go Magic.
How much as we paying Jimmy Kimmel for his role as media recruiter for the Lakers? The dude is repping us hard. Go Kimmel!!!
They can use the stretch provision on Mozgov and cut his cap number down to a 1/3, can move Deng as a part of the deal to get Paul George It's nothin
Not sure you want to put 7 - 14 mill on the books for the next 7 years. Also this: "a team cannot stretch a player’s salary if their obligation to waived players totals 15% of the NBA’s salary cap" might be an issue as well. IMO our best bet is to try to package one of those guys with an asset (player or pick) to get them off the books.
Yeah, this shit is happening and it's just apparent to everyone at this point. Something will probably get done when FA opens in July, or at least LAL would be wise to wait until then so Indy could renounce cap holds and clear enough space to take one of Deng or Mozgov along with probably Russell and Clarkson. Kudos to George's PR team, getting him that spot with Kimmel, but Indy's FO more than likely already knows what time it is. Like I said a few days back, it's definitely in George's best interest to force Indy's hand, that way he can get a 5yr deal from LAL instead of a 4yr deal
https://www.forbes.com/sites/darren...ry-expected-to-be-stretched-out/#2527b3402527 Oh and the salary cap grows every year
That article was written in 2014 and references the 2015 CBA.......didn't a new CBA get signed last year? Not sure just asking.
Nothing was changed regarding the stretch provision. One of the 1st things that was talked about by cap gurus after Mozgov signed with LAL was the structure of his contract and how LAL could escape it. He makes 15.28M next season..the NBA's salary cap is projected to land between 101-110M..meaning his contract can comfortably be stretched using the stretch provision. All to say, LAL has never been " stuck with Mozgov "..anybody talking that foolishness doesn't really know what they're talking about or just being a drama queen. And 7M on the books annually is nothing considering that the cap continues to climb, and the fact that LAL already has a good amount of cheap/homegrown/controlled talent on it's roster.
so You are long on Mozgov? I'm not seeing any future for him here. Too slow. OK with boards but not impressive. His FG% was 51.5% last season which might sound good but not for a big man so close to the rim.
