Would not be interested in Kyrie. He'll complain from day 1 that he's not the focus of the team. And it would kill any chance at Bron.

But am I the only one thinking that this was a stupid move on the part of Kyrie?

    Yep my bad.
Nope, seems dumb with all the rumors that Bron is out of town next year. Kyrie would be THE MAN in Cleveland then........to me this sounds like Gilbert is just a crappy owner and everyone wants off the sinking ship.

As if I didn't already think he was a moron after the flat earth comments, he does this.
King of empty stats. Poor assist totals, average rebound stats, and doesn't want to play with the best player in the league.
Good luck to whomever takes him

    Haha Anti-Kyrie here?
He just doesn't want to be left alone in CLE after next season
    I don't blame him for being pro-active

There's pro-active and then there's handcuffing your FO. Zo is our guy of course we don't want Kyrie here.

Sort of handcuffing themselves when they didn't bring Griffin back to continue as GM
Griffin supposedly had a trade for Jimmy Butler lined up, and then Gilbert fired him on the day that the trade was supposed to be completed
    That's the real handcuffing

    I agree
That Kyrie proposal came from the mind of the guy who complains about the Pau Gasol trade, so that's on him
I want to trade for LeBron and get this LeBron/Zo thing rolling immediately
If Kyrie wants out..LeBron may as well jump ship early too
Would be no question about where George is headed after next season at that point
We get LeBron now, for the right package, we're going to the playoffs and all the kids could use that early playoff experience.

But if we get Kyrie and only have to give away one legit piece since Clarkson is not that important to the overall scheme of things maybe its not a bad thing to do. Have Kyrie put up big numbers alongside Lonzo and move Pope to SF.
Ingram can go to the bench or move to PF to fill Randles spot alongside Kuzma and Nance.
Then we flip Kyrie at the deadline for top picks.

They'll eventually have one, it's only July so it doesn't change the facts. You demand trades and you lower any leverage of the team. Not a new concept.

Update: Woj reporting a GM hiring is imminent.

Requesting a trade is one thing..it takes someone to go out and leak your actions to lower leverage
Somebody from that meeting leaked Kyrie's trade request
Maybe even his own camp, who knows..it's an unstable FO right now
However, if you're Kyrie and you want out..and maybe you feel like you can force CLE to make a bad deal so that the team trading for you can keep some good pieces to play with you..maybe you yourself leak that you want out?
If he wants out, and can create a black cloud and force CLE's hand, what's he care about the return they get?
    He's leaving.
If he's taking his destiny into his own hands here, I don't blame him.
It doesn't work any different than when we were happy that George said he was leaving IND and preferred LAL..we all wanted George for the lesser price..for the right trade.
Now, IND blocked us and took less because they didn't want to give George what he wanted
But maybe Kyrie just wants out of Cleveland 1st and foremost..he's a free agent after 2019

    Chris Haynes‏Verified account@ChrisBHaynes
ESPN Sources: On Kyrie Irving front, Cavs were given four preferred landing spots: New York, Miami, San Antonio, Minnesota.

    So he gave them options
Maybe Kyrie goes to NYK to play with Porzingis and LeBron/Melo do it in CLE for a year

But even in SA, Kyrie would not be the man. Kawhi Leonard is light years ahead of him as a player...of course, Kawhi isn't exactly LeBron in terms of attention.

Kyrie is a weird case. Very gifted on offense, but he gives up nearly as much as he scores with his horrible defense. If he's your #1, you're most likely missing the playoffs.

Yeah, that's another wrinkle in this for sure
If CLE trades Kyrie for Melo and then signs Rose..would probably be about the best that could come out of this Kyrie stuff
Still get whipped by the Warriors
