Ay man, that's future Batting Champ James Loney we're talking about.

LOL but seriously, 8 is still even being generous

yeah I agree Puig power potential is very exciting. Pederson isn't going to be a masher but he's drawn comps to Melky and Ellsbury. I think we'd all be very excited to have a guy like that hitting #2 in the order.

I agree to some extent but he hasn't played in basically a year and hasn't missed a beat. (Cubans banned him from trying to defect).

Puig getting caught by the Cubans trying to defect could be one of the best things that has happened to the Dodgers in a long time. That sounds so wrong lol.

I find it curious that once we started referencing Workaholics in the other thread, a new member named Workaholics joins the board 10 minutes later lol.

With all these fake accounts being created, I'm skeptical.

If you are a real person though, welcome to the board!

lol I'm a real member and a new member. I was referenced from the PSD boards and yes I love workaholics. Although I didn't even put up my own av, which is weird, I was going to use the workaholics at Dodgers stadium pics but Blake is cool.

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm definitely not Mark Walter.

His fastball has a lot of sink and I got to watch him a lot at Rancho last year. He just leaves his sinking shit up and it hangs sometimes...

    I think Webster

Webster is a very good spec. He gets hit a little and still has some command issues but the reason analysts, like Goldstein, like him a lot is he's still got plenty of upside because he was a position player in high school and he's very thin. It's reasonable to expect his fastball to gain a couple more ticks. A pretty extreme groundball pitcher, who gets a lot of swings and misses, who has 3 good pitches plus the makings of a fourth, who may hits 95-96(with more likely) and who still has plenty of projection? There is a lot to like about Webster.

Webster giving up hits could also be extremely unlucky. Career .342 BABIP, .352 this year. Only gives up about ~15% LD
He gets a lot of his K's swinging, so his stuff on paper looks great (deceptive, movement etc)
78% SwSr%(swinging strike) which puts him 4th in the Southern League this year
He leads the league in pitches being swung at that is outside the zone (OSwng%) 23.8%

    His FIP 3.03
    SIERA 3.75

Also put this out there previously

    Player A: 88.2 IP | 8.63 K/9 | 3.55 BB/9 | .1 HR/9 | .355 BABIP | 4.06 ERA | 2.99 FIP
    Player B: 105.1 IP| 8.63 K/9 | 3.33 BB/9 | .09 HR/9 | .282 BABIP | 2.99 ERA | 2.77 FIP

    A: Webster
    B: Z. Wheeler

Puig is 1/3 with an RBI Triple, an RBI groundout and a walk so far tonight.

Still dont know why KLaw would call Puig's speed average. I timed his 3rd AB in the vimeo link, and from the point of contact to when he reaches 1B is about 3.8 seconds. For reference, I believe Dee runs that in 3.2 (not sure if straight line or after contact. Dee is also left handed). Average speed is not going to get you 3 3B's in 9 games unless there is a culmination of luck and shitty defense, which may be the case still but doesn't seem like it is.

Also, since we're discussing him. This is what Jason Parks/KG heard about Webster in May

that was obviously before Webster turned things around. Webster was really awful the first month or two but he's been great the last 2 months. His era has been around 2 during that time.

I wonder if they will dump one of the vets next year so Webster and Rubby can compete for a starting rotation spot?
