    It's more cost-efficient for some advanced lifeforms to go through asexual reproduction than traditional for various reasons. A vague explanation, but it could be much more energy efficient for some organisms. Something we overlook as humans, but is a huge part to these organisms' survival.

    its a matter of reproduction
    producing the most offspring
    especially those with high mortality rates
    like trees--angiosperms/gymnosperms--and bacteria, protists etc
    reduces genetic variation but as you said its essential to their survival

    I tried reproducing by myself a lot in my early teens. The only offspring I had was a smelly room. Still, never give up.
