    Seattle..talk about a tease
They were projected to make the WS like 3yrs ago I believe or maybe 2..and not even a playoff appearance
God bless those fans, they've watched the A's go to the playoffs so many damn times and the A's can't even get a stadium Lol
Seattle hasn't been to playoffs since what? 2001?

And he suggested they do have things in the works, or at least open conversations.

The more I think about it, the more I can maybe see a scenario where LAD could value JDL and what he might mean to this particular starting staff so much that maybe they're actually telling the Twins to take a Kazmir along with JDL and holding there.
I mean the supply outweighs the demand to the point where maybe LAD would feel like they can hold MIN's toes to the fire and get more for the ultimate win.
And seeing as how the Twins just signed Santana for 50+MM a couple years ago and gave up a draft pick to do it, and are just pitching starved in general in a down FA pitching market, maybe the 2nd player that LAD offered wasn't one of the young OF at all?
Maybe it was Kazmir or McCarthy, the anti-sweeteners. Lol
And maybe the Twins are receptive there, but countering asking for another spec for the price of taking one of Kaz/BMc and maybe that's where it sits..LAD unwilling to go to a 3rd player/one of the high upside youngsters?
That would be a wild turn of events, but nobody out there truly needs a 2B, at least non of contenders and would be contenders ( other than LAD)

Greg Holland seeking contract with opt-out clause
by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 31 minutes ago

The crop of free-agent relievers this winter was headlined by Aroldis Chapman, Kenley Jansen and Mark Melancon. Each was expected to, and did, sign a contract that shattered Jonathan Papelbon’s four-year, $50 million deal that set the record for largest received by a closer.

With the elite trio no longer on the market, the next tier of relievers has taken center stage, with the group including Greg Holland. The former Kansas City Royals closer missed the entire 2016 while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Holland has drawn interest from multiple clubs, including the Los Angeles Dodgers. The right-hander indicated he’s comfortable pitching either as a set-up man or closer.

As for contract terms, Holland reportedly is seeking a two-year deal that allows for him to opt out after the first year, according to Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball:

"Free agent closer Greg Holland is seeking an unusual two-year deal with a one-year opt-out that could allow him to re-test a free agent market that showed a strong affinity for closers this winter."

The Colorado Rockies reportedly submitted a multiyear contract offer to Holland, which general manager Jeff Bridrich did not confirm, but acknowledged his club has interest in the 31-year-old.

The Dodgers were among several clubs who attended Holland’s showcase last November. The throwing session was his first completed in public since undergoing Tommy John surgery in October 2015.

Pitching with a torn labrum in his elbow, Holland struggled in 2015, finishing with 32 saves, a 3.83 ERA, 3.27 FIP and 1.46 WHIP. In the two seasons prior, he converted a combined 93 saves with a 1.32 ERA, averaged 13.4 strikeouts per nine innings and twice earned All-Star Game honors.

While the Dodgers are looking to round out their bullpen, the club reportedly prefers to sign relief pitchers to one-year contracts.

Push to rename Los Angeles freeway after Vin Scully
Fox News Sports | 21 minutes ago

A California lawmaker wants to name a section of a Los Angeles freeway in honor of Vin Scully, the legendary broadcaster who retired last year after calling Dodgers games for 67 seasons.

The Los Angeles Times reports Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez introduced a resolution last week to rename a two-mile stretch of Interstate 110 that passes Dodger Stadium.

The resolution also asks state transportation officials to determine the cost of installing signs with the proposed name ''Vin Scully Highway.'' The newspaper says the signs could be installed using funds raised by outside donations.

Gomez introduced a similar measure last session, but it died without receiving a committee hearing.

The 89-year-old Scully received the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House in November.

If they only change the 110 so the Messicans can drive on it, and not the 5, the 2 or the 101, that's RACIST!

Apparently someone called into MLB Radio tonight with the Villar/Braun idea... basically the take away was "NO CHANCE IN HELL". The reasoning was that the Dodgers and Brewers did not come close to seeing eye to eye for Braun's value before, now you are talking about adding a player the Brewers DO WANT to keep and the take away was that the Dodgers would not come up with nearly high enough to match such an offer.
