If Kershaw comes back healthy, I like our chances to catch the Gnats.

But compared to the Cubs, I just don't know if it is enough.

I like our chances against everyone else in the NL.

    Geez...well that was a surprise.

If they were going to do that, why not get a set of steak knives?

They can't really think Toles, Taylor, and Enrique are better options for the roster then Puig can they? Puigs been awful but this seems weird as hell. Is he really held to a weird ass standard? Wth, why do this dramatic shit and put the attention on this

Why would he be on the flight to Denver if he was traded or being sent to the minors?

    What am I missing here?

Just reading the tea leaves, but what I think the article was trying to say was Puig stormed off when told he'd either be traded or sent down to the minors.....but that conversation probably preceded the trade deadline. When nothing happened it was still up to the team to decide what to do. But since he stormed off, he wasn't on the plane to Denver.

He might have still been on the active roster until a final decision was made.

They basically told him he's not wanted around the club.
Watch CK's back magically heal itself Haha

Maybe I'm missing something but, again, it's like he's held to a different standard then others. Gets in trouble with bad base running and others get a pass and now this? He hasn't been good, don't get me wrong and I know he can be frustrating. But I'm baffled at the idea that he could be a starter and the moment they think he's not a starter, they have to completely rid of him? Put him on the bench and he can be a defensive replacement or something. You add a lefty bat and get rid of a righty?

In favor of Enrique, who has been awful this year, and Toles, who is a bit hurt and has been nobody for awhile.

Maybe there's something large that's missing from the story. But I fail to see how this is rationalized

    Personalities.
In pro sports not everybody handles these types of roles well both on the field and just buying in.
The way he reportedly handled himself just confirms why they can't even trust him in a smaller role.
I mean..just go to AAA, bro.
Being paid millions anyway, just go.

You have to add injury prone to the discussion, too.

They also might think he would be a distraction if he wasn't playing every day.

He handled it just fine at the end of last year. But, to be sent in the minors when he's been better then SVS, and Enrique? Come on, I'd be worried if he WASNT mad

They should've traded him, though, I will say that.
I mean, WTF are they looking for in return? Magic beans?

On paper yes the Cubs appear to be the team to beat but the best team doesnt always win. Until the Cubs prove they are that team they will always be losers to me

It kinda sounds like he was blindsided by this news.......so IMO, he should be pissed. I agree, Puig with all his crap, is still better than SVS, and possibly Kiki.
