You know...that is the fucking dumbest ass thing I have heard.

If any of this Rosendouche crap is true, then the FO is a basket case. Dont pay for him in the off season, but try to get him and his contract when he's not 100% while also giving up prospects we've thus far protected at the expense of possible team improving trades?

If this is all made up BS, Rosendouche needs to be arrested for fraud.

I'm sure the Dodgers went in and low-balled the DBacks. They probably asked AZ to pay half his salary.

I think if it went through, the Dodgers would have him for what they initially offered him...plus his bad year and injury is behind him, and he is focused and near the Greinke we knew. He wouldn't finish up with us anyway...
If he were on the roster, along with CK back, and whatever walking wounded is due back, I like our post season chances way better with him, than not.
Imo, this would have been absolutely brilliant should it have come to fruition, (certainly better than the great Reddick/ Hill pickups), and I would raise my FO mark to D, possibly even to C minus.
    Nah, D.

I doubt the DBacks would have done it, simply for PR reasons. They have a real dumb front office and care a LOT about public perception. They didn't trade Shelby Miller at the deadline because they thought it would look bad

I'm betting they went in and said, you guys overpaid even when his value was at its absolute peak, so we're interested but you're going to have to eat money sufficient to get our obligation below what we offered. Knowing our guys they knew it was 1000-1 but tried to sniff it out in the not unlikely possibility that Dave Stewart would do his ten millionth stupid thing.

I think it's more about perception around the industry. It was reported Miami had offered a couple pitching prospects for Shelby and AZ owners turned it down

They never exchanged names, guessing the D'Backs said "Take his salary and we want De Leon and Bellinger" since it sounds like the Dodgers asked and then just walked away. The D'Backs are a horribly run organization and it does not surprise me that they are tremendously fucked right now. It feels like every year we are hearing "Dodgers checked in on player X" this time of the season. Player X being a good player with an extremely bad contract. I wonder if they are still out there exploring those AGon type deals where they offer up middle of the road prospects in exchange for bad contracts as in all likelihood, they're not going to be under the luxury tax before the 2019 season. Only thing is the Backs don't have any other bad contracts to really take on where they could have potentially parted with Greinke for essentially nothing.

Pretty sure DBacks' owners killed the Ethier for Montero deal as well.
DBacks are being run just like the Suns..blindfolded.

To me it's about personal reasons instead of sound baseball decision making which is pretty ridiculous to run an organization based upon personal issues.

Watching the Rundown on mlb network and Jim Callis and the host just discussed JDL and they both agreed that IT'S WAY PAST TIME to bring him up.

I always thought it was curious they didn't bring up DeLeon before Urias.

De Leon was hurt for the first two months of the season and when he came back the second time from injury, his results weren't spectacular. Had he been healthy, he would have been the first line of defense as I am sure they would prefer to have Brock Stewart not on the 40 man roster right now.

I'm trying to figure out why Tsao and Frias are still there.

I assume Greinke cleared waivers, which more or less says no one was willing to take 100% of his salary.

Tsao is on the 60 Day, so that is just a whatever. Frias is probably just holding down a spot on the 40 man until they need it, WHICH IS HOPEFULLY FOR DE LEON TOMORROW. Frias has solid stuff, but I think it is time to try that stuff in the pen full time. Sure he could be a decent back of the rotation pitcher, but it just appears he is best suited in a relief role where his FB and pitch selection plays up.

It's nice to see all the articles and scouts saying, 'Why the fuck is this guy still in AAA?!"but man is that shit getting frustrating when we keep rolling out a scrub like Norris or a lesser spects in Stewart and Stripling. I really want to see what this kid has in store for a possible playoff run.
