    Can't happen...

They'd have to be on the same team, and both sport matching Coexist fish stickers on their cars, borrowed from the devil.

Madbum has one already. The fish with the little legs, but smashing into a tree.
I guess it reflects his belief that fish could have been arboreal, but forgot to jump...

    • Nationals sign Kurt Suzuki to a 2 yr deal. This was considered a potential short term option for the Dodgers C vacancy, though he is not known for his defensive prowess.
    • Rosenthal said this morning that all the movement in MLB FO's is causing this massive slowdown to the start of the offseason. Still not a ton of hiring's being announced, but I could see many of these spots filled prior to Thanksgiving.
    • Heyman reporting the Dodgers and Astros are the two teams he is hearing that are pursuing Realmuto the hardest. He speculates that the Dodgers are floating one of Will Smith or Keibert Ruiz, but that is like, his opinion man. Also, no chance the Dodgers move Bellinger in that deal. That is a laughably dumb idea. The Yankees are said to be pursuing Realmuto as well and floating Gary Sanchez as a return, but that is not as exciting as it used to be.

Yea, it's weird one, and I doubt they take Kemp at full price when they are only getting Stripling, Uceta (still kind of a lottery ticket), Peters and Lux (granted he may be a top 100 guy in the spring). But getting that middle infield help in Segura and another above average bullpen arm in Colome would be nice

I mean like, no way Colome is more valuable than Stripling. Stripling is a 3 win starter. So then we gotta deal Peters and Lux for Segura who’s value is tied to the fact that he’s a SS and when his BABIP drops is gonna be useless for us? I’d probably straight up rather have Taylor than Segura as a 2B for 2019.

one of the reasons i love turner
and it has nothing to do with his on the field performance
    he gets it
maybe it's because he struggled before achieving greatness

Justin Turner, wife Kourtney and The Dream Center donate to So Cal Wildfires Relief
by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 15 November 2018

The Southern California community was shaken up last week with news of a mass shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks. While citizens were just beginning to mourn the lives lost, multiple wildfires around the area broke out and caused evacuations.

The Woolsey Fire and others burned tens of thousands of acres, claiming several houses and claiming lives. As firefighters worked to contain the fires, efforts were underway to provide for those who were displaced and/or lost their home.

That included Justin Turner, who along with his wife Kourtney and The Dream Center, delivered hygiene products and boxes of shoes to a shelter that had just opened at Canoga Park High School.

Turner’s first stop was to Pierce Community College, where he was informed of a greater need. “They actually said that they had enough items, they didn’t need any of our items,” Turner said from Dodger Stadium, where he helped host batting practice for active duty military members and veterans.

“What they needed was Lysol and stuff to clean the cots and plates and plasticware for everyone to eat. We dropped off all of our supplies (at Canoga Park High School) and then went back to Target and picked up the cleaning stuff and the plates and went back to Pierce. But obviously, that’s not a whole lot but we tried to help and donate.

“They’re still battling up there and if we could get up to the firefighters and help them out with whatever they need, that would be awesome. But that’s impossible to even get to them right now.”

Both on behalf of the Los Angeles Dodgers and through his Justin Turner Foundation, the 33-year-old regularly is involved with community service efforts. Turner hosts an annual golf classic to benefit The Dream Center and makes appearances at local hospitals during the holidays, among other initiatives.

“I consider myself extremely lucky to be here, be where I’m at,” he said. “To have this platform, to understand the platform that we’re given, not just myself but everyone. If you play in the Major Leagues, you’re seen all the time through social media, on the field, on TV, I think it’s a duty to find a way to get involved somehow.

“It doesn’t have to be with fire relief or disaster relief or homeless veterans but just finding your little niche to get out in the community and find a way to have an impact on someone else who is less fortunate than we are to be playing Major League Baseball.”

    Yankees get Paxton.

The Mariners and Yankees completed a trade Monday that sends ace left-hander James Paxton to New York for three prospects, including top-rated lefty Justus Sheffield.

The other two prospects going to Seattle are outfielder Dom Thompson-Williams and right-handed pitcher Erik Swanson.

Paxton, who turned 30 this month, has spent his entire career with Seattle. He went 11-6 in 28 starts last season with a 3.76 ERA. His 208 strikeouts ranked ninth in the American League.

The move bolsters the Yankees' thin starting rotation, which contributed to New York's loss in the AL Division Series to the eventual World Series champion Red Sox. He joins a rotation projected to include right-handers Luis Severino and Masahiro Tanaka and left-hander CC Sabathia.

Paxton made $4.9 million last season and is eligible for salary arbitration. He can become a free agent after the 2020 season.

Sheffield, a first-round pick of the Indians in 2014, is the Yankees' No. 1 prospect and made his major league debut in September with three relief appearances.

The 22-year-old was No. 12 on Keith Law's 2018 midseason rankings of all prospects in baseball. He went 7-6 with a 2.48 ERA in 25 games (20 starts) with Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this year.

Swanson, the Yankees' No. 22 prospect according to MLB.com, was promoted to Triple-A last season, where he went 3-2 with a 3.98 ERA in 13 starts with 78 strikeouts and 14 walks.

The Yankees picked Thompson-Williams in the fifth round in 2016. The 23-year-old hit .299 with 22 home runs and 20 stolen bases in A-ball with Tampa and Charleston this year.

Bryce Harper wouldn’t be allowed to wear 34 if he went to the Dodgers. I wonder how much of an impact that would have on his decision

Give him an additional year in his contract offer for 34MM. You'd do it for Kershaw..hell, you've already done it. Ante up, bkeyotches.

Yankees are stacking up for a push. If they land Machado or Harper, they are next year’s favorites in my opinion.

If the Astros get Realmutto, then it will be an arms race in the AL.

I hope we make a splash at the necessary positions.

LOL ... If he balks at a $300 million deal over a number, then maybe we shouldn’t sign him.

How about if he wins 2 rings with us, like Fernando, then he can have the number?

I say forget #34 and give him Kersh's number right off Kersh's back since the reason we're thirsting over him in the 1st place is because Kershaw can't pitch like a HOF when it matters most
