    Wait!!! What is innacurate?
Each statement that I made was accurate. If you want to come out guns blazing then you'd better bring guns. Explain how I'm wrong. His WAR is almost entirely predicated on his one "trick".

The Dodgers have put Joc in a position to succeed. They litteraly said, "hey kid, go out there and do what you are good at against the pitchers you are good at". The Dodgers hid him from failure.

He can't complain that the Dodgers only used him against eighties. I'd argue that if they sent him out there against eighties he'd not get close to what he got in arbitration. Why? Because his numbers would absolutely tank and his homerin weighted WAR would plummet because his success ratio would plummet. He dies not get a war boost anywhere else.

Maybe he should work on his craft as opposed to using his tears to salt his fast food fries.

Ya know looking at this from a different perspective maybe Joc has a point. What if he wanted to hit against LHP so as to try to get better and MGT said no. If that's the case then MGT really did him a disservice and kinda hosed him by not trying to develop him as a player.

joc’s value is (at least somewhat) offset by his sour grapes
AF shipped puig and kemp when they were viewed as bad mojo
I doubt very seriously he hangs onto joc

then again he brought whiny bkitch wood back so who knows?...

like you, I was vehemently opposed to the DH
sucks when pitchers can throw at someone with no chance of recourse
that said, I don’t want to be an unwilling to change curmudgeon ...
    so fuck it
but I still hate interleague play and the unbalanced schedule

Some new articles on the Astros sign stealing. Turns out that lots of teams happily helped the Nats in 2019 once they were facing the Astros to let them know of their sign stealing. Dodgers in particular told Dozier some things

10-12 teams complained about the Astros to MLB and they didn’t do anything

Decided to go visit a buddy in the ATL, so planned around the Dodgers being out there. Gonna catch the game on a Friday night. Should be fun!

MLB is not a developmental league. He's had 50+ PA's against LHP every year, and has failed every year.

That said, I think the "platoon" argument from the Dodgers is moot. He had 500+ PA's last year, and platoon player or not, that's high usage. Arbitration is an ugly process anytime it happens, and it takes two to go there. All the projections had Joc at $8.5 million this year, and had he just submitted that number he would have won.

I like to think all sides just see this as business and not personal, so if Joc is upset it's on him IMO.

Yup. I'm sure he thinks he CAN hit lefties. It's like when I left my wife. She said " Joshua, I was great as a wife". I said " you were great in bed, but that's because you have been sleeping around. You don't cook, clean, work or are supportive."

He's proven to fail. If he was good the Dodgers WOULD WANT him to hit lefties. Just like my ex, I wanted that beautiful body on top of me hitting a home run but everything else was a complete waste.

The Dodgers gave Joc opportunities over the years to face lefties. The AB's became less and less competitive. I have said it in the past that he needed to take an offseason of just facing a ton of lefties and every spring he'd show up having more and more pathetic AB's. I got really pissed at some point last spring where it looked like he had no interest in even facing a lefty and intentionally struck out on 3 pitches. Instead of attacking the problem, he accepted it and kicked dirt along the way.

The present truth is somewhere in between of both of these truths.
Joc is saying "I can do it but they don't let me do it and then they judge me for not doing it!"
Dodgers saying "You haven't proved it when you were tested".
Joc needs to say "Oh yeah... watch me @$Y#$&^!%#!"
And the Dodgers will say " :D "

Joc has the whole package and he just needs to tighten up and get down to business (that one's for Irish).
Dodgers probably do see him as a part of the family and are trying to toughen him up before they give him a long term contract.

I would add the DH to both leagues.
But remove it during the playoffs.
In the playoffs all pitchers have to hit and so they better train during the season.
But they have all season to physically and mentally prepare and practice.
Which may make them into decent hitters.
This then puts less emphasis on spending huge money on a DH if come playoff time he becomes your pinch hitter.
The DH is still important but is now a more powerful strategic element.
Managers have the option to use it or not during the season but still have to prepare the team to play without it.
It really evens the playing field and makes pitchers hitting the weird spectacle that it should be and kinda is.
The flexibility balances out the great advantages having a guy like Otani gives a team as well as encouraging the making of more players like Otani possible.
