i'm thinking we're probably looking at a couple of bullpen games w/the starters going 4IP, maybe 5 if low pitch count

i think kim jong un will rain 1000 death missles from his new superjet bomber that he will personally pilot over the game in the first inning and return to unrelenting cheers
so no one makes it to the second inning and it is the first and only time we see Ohtani in blue
better be up at 3am pt

for sure. both teams probably have the luxury of being able to use whatever pitcher they want those first two games. Dodgers could Yamamoto and Glasnow in either game then bring someone like Bobby Miller or Paxton or Sheehan out of the pen to back them up

it is odd as they will be playing two games with rest before and after for all pitchers. All four main starters can pitch 3 innings and your top 6 bullpen guys 1 inning each…. Then if your starters go less you can go deeper in your bullpen

Yeah, it's definitely a different dynamic. I think the plan is for Yama to start game 2, so maybe he's followed by Paxton, with game 1 featuring Glasnow and Miller. Nice to be able to use the whole staff and not be worried about the next game. I also like that there should be no jet lag by the third game. Hopefully Buehler will be ready for that first series back in the States.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto's numbers in Japan were almost incomprehensible, the last three seasons specifically. He posted a 1.42 ERA in 557 2/3 innings from 2021 to 2023, accumulating 587 strikeouts and 110 walks. He faced 659 batters this past season and only two of them hit home runs.

Yeah, and they can have Michael Douglas wear it to depict the streets of San Francisco. Either that or send an anonymous note to Farhan so he can run it up there and claim the idea as his own. :)

    • The Dodgers will have a Guggenheim jersey patch this season.
tbt after all they spent this offseason, they could rename dodger stadium if they wanted and i’d be okay with it

So with Kershaw having a player option for 2025, can we put to rest any chance of him ever playing for another team? I can't see him declining the option in order to sign elsewhere. Not with the potential to earn $20M next year. And if he does opt in for 2025, he'd be 18 seasons in and 37 after that season. Pretty likely that he calls it a career at that point.

By the way, Kudos to Friedman for making him a priority.
