    Floyd will never ever fight outside of Vegas thus he will never ever lose a fight. Maidana fought him about as well as anyone has in the past few years but he just used too many bullets early on. Entertaining, yes, closer than I expected, yes. Hopefully there is a rematch outside of Vegas but I see that as a slim to none chance of happening.

    nothing that hasn't been wrong for like forever. the last i was truly interested in boxing was when the middle weight group was full of contenders and the promoters fucked it all up. we saw nothing. coming on the heels of the hagler-leonard debacle in which hagler brought the fight and dominated while leonard did some flashy dancing, i was done. its a joke on the scale of pro wrestling almost.

    ^ I once was a big boxing fan.Used to go to the Garden all the time back in the day...over the past years, if there never was a boxing match ever fought again, it couldn't be too soon.
    A failed sport for me.

    still remember as a kid watching the gillette fight cards on (then) khj tv 9 with my dad
    guys like bobby chacon, danny "little red" lopez, ruben olivarez
    the guys back then were fighters
    what they call boxing today annoys me
    should have a governing body that demands the top fighters fight each other
    and if you refuse, you're stripped of your ranking and (if applicable) title
    funny that diablo mentioned the hagler/leonard debacle
    the best middleweights of that era; hearns, hagler, duran and leonard ALL fought each other
    they ducked no one
    occasionally you'll see a legit fighter every now and then (mcgirt, toney, trinidad, holyfield, etc) that wants to fight the best
    but that's more the exception than the rule these days

    ^but towards the end of that era guys weren't fighting each other anymore.
    and then the de la hoya, whitaker, trinidad and i think even jones jr fought middleweight plus like 5 other contenders and we saw zip.
    idk if you guys remember the ortiz family that fought out of simi but mike was a really good friend and i would watch fights w his family and my family and there would be like 15-20 guys cheering and drinking. that was such a great time.
    the money and promoters just fucked it all up.

    my mom worked at cbs and was friends with the goosen family
    we got to see the ruelas bros and of course and michael nunn
    saw them grow up and fight at the country club in reseda
    got to know them too
    when they lost i made excuses
    then i realized there were others better
    such cruel life lessons

    Boxing is like the world.
    You have fond memories of back when the champs fought champs and the sport was clean.
    At some point you realize it's all corrupted and no longer as good as in the good olden days.
    What may not be realized is that the memories of the golden age are no different other than the specific point you personally had enough of the corruption and stopped being the same type of fan.
    It's a different moment for everybody.

    So MLB The Show doesn't get released in Australia and New Zealand. They play some games in that shithole, but they don't release a game that will draw more fans to the sport than the fucking D-Backs ever will.

    Apparently there's a way to play the American release, but some game modes are unavailable or something. There's a facebook group supporting bringing it downunder. Either that or I'm hoping they make it available for download from the PS4 store.

    I don't keep up with the gaming world but I thought just about every game for PS4 was downloadable. I thought that the market was trending towards downloads taking over vs. hard copy.

    In all formats.

    Biggies like M$ realized that we'd only buy Outgas, Turd, Excrete and Powerpuke once a decade and be fine with that so now you have to buy Office 365 so that you pay them each and every damn month or they take back the software. And they are getting away with it. And lots of new apps demand "Cloud" storage for which the lack of a single monthly payment and all of your data is forever lost. Some are outright hostile refusing to allow you to store data on your own PC.

    Same old same ole... the rich figuring out how to get richer while screwing the masses... :yawn:
