i know we have some smart kids on this site and sometimes you guys are looking for jobs my kid just got a job w weworks and i had no idea what it was about looks very much like the center of the business universe to me and comes w a nice salary, full benes, 401k and more huge potential for advancement since its basically blowing up right now if you already know what it is and haven't looked into it i would be surprised
My mom works for a private equity company in NYC and went on two interviews with them when they were starting up. They offered her equity and a job, but she turned it down because she said everyone was much younger than she was and thought it’d be an awkward fit. She sort of regrets it now as they’ve blown up.
according to my daughter they are in full acquisition mode and looking to occupy 20 new buildings in LA the first person to interview her was hired last year and is in charge of her division they also want to open a Montessori on the west coast and my daughter was hired with the knowledge that her parents own one seeing as they have a tuition of about 40k a kid and my place is entirely expandable in the center of Burbank... anyway i was pretty impressed reading up on what they are all about might even think about a part time gig doing some contractor work for them why not? she said they have kegs of beer on tap in the break rooms lol
I’m sure they’re gonna continue to grow rapidly it’s a great idea. I know a couple of friends who work in finance and accounting that say their companies have workspaces available for traveling employees, probably saw what WeWork is doing and want to cut out the middle man. For example a friend from college works for PWC in Cleveland and came out to NYC to visit family and hang out with me, and worked one of the days at their NYC office in those traveling employee offices. Interesting, shouldn’t be a threat to WeWork though they’re already so big and do more than just that.
I had a "mutual seperation" from employer on October 23rd due to a joke I made at a sensitivity meeting, i said "i don't care if everyone in the warehouse died, I would still be like yeah that sucks but we're still going for tacos, right?" I expect my political views is what they fired me for. I was no longer part of a company culture they wanted to embrace.
