wtf was i in the wrong thread?
I thought this was the music thread
what a day
had to get triple ayed home and probably left my phone in the tow truck
remember the staff of truth?
never seen this version of gandalf before
now for a sauron...
almost over sort of like Maurice's career was at this point in 1990
still remains one of my favorite celebrity encounters
happy Sept 21st!
Just finished watching Ken Burn's " Mohammed Ali" ...
What a trip, bringing back those times that mirrored his life story.
I wasn't one the people who went to the close circuit theaters to see him lose, to see someone kick.his ass, I went to see him win.
And in this presentation, the best of many I have seen over the years, I found out so much about him that I did not know. And all these years later, I'm glad I did root for him...more than ever.
He was the greatest athlete I ever saw.
And so much more.
and he was a dodger too!
I get where you're going, but they refused to give him conscientious objector status, because of his religion and how it was viewed then. How is that legit for some and not for others ?
He also gave, with my own service and many years of life's patina well behind me, the greatest reason of why he wouldn't go of anyone, ever, imo. And was willing to go to jail for it.
No matter how I groused over it when he refused.
i agree with you
but he did not qualify for a religious exemption
its an exemption so its at the discretion of the government
and you dont get the benefit of discretion when you are trying to make a loud point
which he was
just like you cant claim to be a devout member of the religion of peace while making a living as a prizefighter in the business of drugs, sex, and organized crime
you can get any man of the cloth to say that you are a religious person
that wont ever guarantee you a exemption
his beef was probably that brown people are always sent in larger numbers to fight in foreign lands
using islam as a shield when he lived a secular lifestyle was bound to backfire
Good points, Ribe. But at the time, I really don't.know if Ali was aware of governmental discretion.
Now take the point, black man...
At some point everyone faces the man.
And that's the point where you learn the color of the law.
And it's not brown.
But you are.
there is no law
there are only exceptions assigned to the biggest whiners
and if you're white, there are no exceptions
the law is white
people are not white or black
that is order vs chaos, law vs luck
its a trick or treat like hollyween!
like how other britons consider you irish as black
et tu brutus
yup, the european tradition is to sell out your own brother like cain
am i my brothers keeper is the basis of the status quo dog eat dog its not personal its business culture
white is the status quo
white can take on any color it deems necessary
the status quo changes only when white changes
if a dark person gets happy because white wants to look cool and put on shades so that the world is black and white
then the dark person is happy with the status quo, with order, with white power
and when white power swings back to its roots the dark person will be sad
happy then sad, sad then happy
thats how you make an addict
or how you make somebody 'love' you
cavemen cant literally club you over the head and force stockholm syndrome on you so this is the current way
what is the old texan saying?
yellow is a mellow fellow
brown can stick around
red take them to a fed
black send them back
now thats how they see outsiders coming cross the border
who are they?
they are the them
and th and d are interchangable
like themocracy and democracy
just remove the arches and the word is theocracy
just like that show dallas
america has mullahs too
our burning bushes are from the poison ivy but try to pass off as mesquite
their trafficking crude oil and they try to pass it off as trading in olive branches
you remember what happened to the haitians jesuit priests shipping cocaine inside little idols of saints and marys on that episode of lost?
the smoke monster came for them
thats why i like brown
very little problem with brown pride
lots of problem with white pride and black pride
but nobody wants to be brown
because honestly we are all brown
just some a little darker or lighter than others
and every culture is full of one of the many shades of shit
brown is low to the ground
and thats what keeps them always looking up to the sky
everyone can be brown
from the darkest black to the whitest white their color identity is a social construct
a lie even dr frankenstein would call a monster
but wizards make a golem for a reason
like a farmer makes a straw man for the crows to fight
is it reverse racism to put black people as ancient europeans in courtly dramas?
is it racist when white people complain?
but its being written and produced and funded and presented by white culture seemingly pandering to minorities when white people are about to lose their majority status
so who is fighting whom?
or is it white culture turning on each other selling their own into a form of slavery to get their group to be the tutuors/tudors of the new money/power like they have for millennia?
it is inherent to the ice and snow to send off youth to enslave other lands because there is very little space to raise families and farm animals and crops because of the cold
which makes fighting for territory essentially the religion of the culture and infighting becomes as necessary and regular as inbreeding
ice and snow and cold is not that dissimilar to desert and sand and heat when it comes to all that stuff
all i read in dusty books is that europeans didnt have black people
so yeah, putting blacks in those shows is anachronistic
just like how lots of things that are going on right now seem 'out of phase'
it freaks people out
like seeing blacks as queens in medieval europe
because we are programmed and the breaking of programming is painfully obvious except when we are living in oblivion
we can understand why the queen isnt black
but why didnt they have regular black people?
that one should be obvious too
you know that in stories of viking gods there is no poor people e
unless they were called something like dwarf and were relegated to slaving under the table or in mines/mountains/factories
and you could kick them and otherwise make fun of them anyway you wanted in the story without it being considered mean
in fact there is no kind of people that would be 'shameful' to gods other than a few of these 'good' dwarves that were happy to be slaves
the gods all act like they are part of a large mafia 'family'
where the cunning of odin is the godfather and 'honor' is their holy spirit and the vengeance of thor their jesus
just like how when putin says that there is no gays in russia while he slyly winks
russians dont tolerate that kind of thing... is his point
so putting blacks in a show about vikings of macbeth or whatever is to make you aware of this point
but without saying it like captain obvious over here
depends on which laws you're talking about
tax and business laws whitey is front and center for aggressive government attack in LA
When they tell you to take the point, it's the law of the jungle...because you're knee deep in it
that's what rats do to their babies
its how the really big ones live so long
don't know if anyone knows Mark Manson
If I worked at Starbucks, instead of writing people’s names on their coffee cup, I’d write the following:
"One day, you and everyone you love will die. And beyond a small group of people for an extremely brief period of time, little of what you say or do will ever matter. This is the Uncomfortable Truth of life. And everything you think or do is but an elaborate avoidance of it. We are inconsequential cosmic dust, bumping and milling about on a tiny blue speck. We imagine our own importance. We invent our purpose—we are nothing."
Enjoy your fucking coffee.
I’d have to write it in really tiny lettering, of course. And it’d take a while to write, meaning the line of morning rush-hour customers would be backed out the door. Not exactly stellar customer service, either. This is probably just one of the reasons why I’m not employable.
But seriously, how could you tell someone, in good conscience, to “have a nice day” while knowing that all their thoughts and motivations stem from a never-ending need to avoid the inherent meaninglessness of human existence?
Separate names with a comma.
