Is the complaining about the parking lots solely because McCrook would continue to profit from it? Or is their something that would hinder the new owner in a big way?
As long as it doesn't hinder ownership, I DGAF. I usually split parking with a friend or use public transportation.
I cannot believe the league or the court would allow for the lots to NOT be included in a deal and I cannt beleive any ownership group would agree to it. FUCKING BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/03/quick-hits-dodgers-buxton-cohen.html Quick Hits: Dodgers, Buxton, Cohen By Mark Polishuk [March 12 at 11:04pm CST] Major League Baseball did not invite real estate developer Alan Casden to a meeting of competing groups bidding to buy the Dodgers, effectively removing Casden from the process, reports Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. Casden's rejection means that the list of potential new Dodgers ownership groups has been narrowed to six. Steve Cohen is "the most important man in Major League Baseball right now," writes Mike Ozanian of Forbes Magazine, for offering to buy partial ownership of the financially-struggling Mets and for his ability to present a "simple" bid to buy the Dodgers.
There is precedent of the parking lots not being sold with the team. The recent sale of the Rangers didn't include the parking lots and the attorneys involved in that BK case are representing MLB in the Dodger BK case. Cohen if he gets the team will have a new lease as part of the agreement and it will be up to him to attempt to set terms that protect his interest.
The biggest issue would be when the parking lot lease is up and having to renegotiate with Frank. The other issue is the owner of the team/stadium wouldn't have the ability to develop the land around the stadium and may be limited in control over what Frank can do with the land. Frank is just bad news, no arguing that. As far as the issue of paying to park, the lot will be leased to the team - so the team will be in charge of what to charge and your $15 for parking will go to the team, not Frank.

Still burns at me to see the parking lots not being included. Can we just rid of this fucking parasite? Doesn't matter anyways, gas prices are way too fucking high and I plan to go when they go to Anahiem, which is much closer to me.
I honestly dont give a fuck if he owns the parking lots. He's not going to be seen or heard from, and he wont be making any decisions. All I care about.
You will care when parking garages erect from the ground and the new owner is trapped in a crappy situation where he can't improve or at least preserve the ravine. That land should belong to the dodgers. Not frank.
You should. McCourt is going to suck money out of people for no good reason and turn it into a greedy moneysucking machine with no fan interest. That turns away people, makes people spend less in stadium. All that takes away money from Dodgers owner, takes away money from team. Take that, and think of how much money the owner could be using himself from the lots instead of GIVING to lots and you see a widespread loss of money that should be had for the Dodgers to make the team better. McCourt making "bad" decisions isn't what ruined this team, it was McCourt being greedy and taking money away for the sake of himself. and in this scenario, McCourt is being greedy and taking money away for the sake of himself
Boo hoo, Frank McCourt is going to make money off parking tickets. The thought that people are going to still boycott games because Frank McCourt is in charge of the parking situation is absurd.
What's so absurd about it? I don't really think there will be a huge movement to boycott, but there is nothing wrong with the motives behind it. There is literally zero analysts who have looked at McCourt keeping the parking lots as a positive thing whatsoever, and many who have sid it's terrible because it basically takes money away from the Dodgers in an area where they should be gaining money. The Dodgers are basically going to have a landlord who's been known to be a douche, in a situation where a landlord shouldn't even exist. I'm not saying hey don't go to any games cause of McCourt. Because no matter if everyone here on DSP doesn't park there, McCourt is going to make his money either way. but to say its no big deal is more absurd than to care enough to not park
