glad he did because i for one would have a similar reaction to either one. i was actually considering making the comparison earlier in the day. irish was working and had no choice but how awesome would it be to throw down your utensils and shout murderer as you left like that infamous venice beach scene when the guy circles oj shouting murderer. of course with frank it would be douche.
But they want the team so they didn't. it is like buying a new pad on EBay and refusing to pay the asking price and submitting a much lower bid only to see others bidding it up beyond what you want to pay. If you want it you have to pay the current bid price or yield to others. Blackstone has done a great job creating the market and it appears McCourt is going to get his money out of hiring them.
Yup brings in capital and cash so they can up their bid if needed without having to create debt to do it. Or at the current price it would decrease their need to leverage the bid. Could mean they are going to up the bid to include the parking lots and need the cash infusion to maintain their current debt to equity ratio.
A contractual absolute that if not met results in litigation to resolve. At the current bid levels I have a hunch Jamie would be accomodating for another 25-50 million or more if she had to wait a few weeks.
I wonder how many posters have divorce settlements that were not fulfilled as designated by the court?
she's a spoiled ho bag, like most, so of course she's allow a $2M penalty per day delayed deal... Interesting angle... I'm curious too...
Sherman Anti Trust Act-Bid Rigging= Civil and crimininal issues. In this case I seriously doubt any of the bidders want to cross Blackstone and find out. Finding out could result in criminal and or civil charges and perhaps most importantly being ostracized in the financial community. http://www.sheppardmullin.com/practices-175.html This is a California company that I suspect would be more than happy to represent Frank
Frank has Blackstone to handle things but on his own I could see him screwing this up. Bid offers may be in but if he rejects them all they could all be withdrawn! It is now getting to poker time. However Blackstone will probably keep it from becoming a game of chicken. From what I have seen and there may be more accurate there is a 200 million difference between the highest and second highest bid. Thats a chunk of change and I am not sure there is any reason for the highest to move off of that bid. Dispite what the press says there is nothing conclusive to say it doesn't include the parking lots. A lot could happen and soon!
i tell you what i might be alone on this... but i'd be willing to sacrifice another season if it meant we could rid ourselves of mccourt once and for all i don't even care if he profits i just want him out -- completely out
I try to be balanced in analyzing the situation but truth be told when just based on a cerebral reaction I am one of the biggest McCourt haters in here. Reality is I tend to temper the cerebral side when looking at things.
Cohen would bring in Tony LaRussa as President if he gets the club. FUCK http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/nl/dodgers/story/2012-03-14/dodgers-owners-sale/53538100/1 what a joke. id rather have ned
