Eric Stephen@truebluela Justin Turner getting a planned day off Thursday. Logan Forsythe will start at 3B, Chase Utley at 2B, Dave Roberts said Much to look forward to
Just as I was saying we should get back to the usual rotation, I see more experimentation. Foreskin at 3rd? Didn't he biff a perfect game for Hill? Does JT really need a rest? He was out for weeks rehabbing and then he looked really strong, enough to be in the All-Star Game....he shouldn't be that worn out already.
We have our playoff rotation set up. Would be a great time for Dave Roberts to stop being Dave Roberts and play a competitive squad.
I feel like we should be able to split this series, but that feels greedy. Win 1 of 4 and I will be happy.
Kershaw to the rescue just like old times. We lose 1-0 with Colorado scoring on an error by Forsythe.
I think we have a real outside shot at taking the game tonight, if and only if Kershaw throws a perfect game.
LAD should've stayed in their lane. Time for LaVar Ball to throw out the 1st pitch and speak some LAD wins into existence..hit that LaVar bat signal
I actually don't mind JT getting a rest, they have to be careful with him as he gets older with that surgically repaired knee. I was saying fake news because the news we're really waiting for is a QB change, for Sam Barnes to step in @ catcher, even it's only for the next couple weeks or so. That's probably the single biggest move they can make to shake things up. I'm waiting for Doc to be bold and to stop these pussy interviews after the game and to just get mad one time..to swing his stick at least once [ no homo]. I don't wanna see anymore interviews where Doc is sort of hanging his head and saying " I think my guys have a lot of fight left "..they fucking better have a lot of fight left, Doc, I don't need you to tell me that shit. Stop the pleading and start demanding. I'd like to see him find his inner Jim Leyland just once, or must they have a team meeting like they had in SF early last season? And then he says with his head still semi-hanging, " well, I'll tell you, we're going to win the division "..are you, Doc? Will we also " see you in World Series! " ?? smh One thing I can't stand about basically having Spring Training in September is you have guys competing for the wrong reasons, and so selfishness kicks in. When you're holding " tryouts " guys are out there pressing to produce individually to win jobs, they can't help it, it's natural..and so we stop seeing team oriented at bats on consistent basis. We need the franchise player back in this lineup. We need our MVP/Jeter back.
Good point about the downside of having team competitions at this point. Even if guys aren't starting every night (like Turner) they need to know where they fit in now so they can focus on playing as a team. I like seeing our 4 starters lined up for this series. It could be a sign that the FO and team is now focused on making a push to go into the postseason hot. I find it interesting that Kershaw didn't start yesterday's game, even though he could have pitched on normal rest. It could just be that they want to give him extra rest coming back from the DL. I also wonder if the FO didn't want the DBacks to see Kershaw since they might be our first round opponent. We could see something similar play out in the upcoming series against the Nationals. We need Corey back, and fast. There's now talk that his shoulder could require offseason surgery. I'm not a fan of guys playing out of position, but if the shoulder (or elbow?) is more serious than we know, maybe there is real talk of moving him to 1B where he wouldn't have to throw as much.
Elbow. If it was a shoulder I'd be done with baseball. We've been burned by that injury far too many times
I thought it was his elbow. There's an article that mentioned "surgery on his shoulder" but I think(hope?) that's just a typo.
It's almost like saying, " OK, everybody's got a blank slate..none of you fuckers are under contract anymore..now go earn your $ " right as you're going into the playoffs. That's crazy shit. I watched Hanley Ramirez press and swing for the fences all year long in his final year with LAD, out there just playing for himself. It's one of the factors in pro sports that I loathe because it can fuck up a team's chemistry and overall focus, etc. Look at Kenley last year and the troubles he was having for stretches, likely pressing because it was a contract year where he's out there trying to earn a big deal. Stress free this year, mowing MFs down. I will say this..you certainly find out who's tough between the ears, but damn it can be frustrating. I mean last year Kenley was a super-bitch..being pissy with the media, mad at LAD's FO for trying to get Chapman, fuck. I don't even wanna think about what Puig is gonna be like in his contract year..my god. But yeah, these try-outs just have guys looking in the mirror way too much..looking in the mirror with their jerseys on backwards. Said it recently, I do not mind Seager @ 1B..he damn sure looks the part. CT can take SS, his best position, and they just go from there. CB is a natural OF defensively, and I do worry about his offensive splits out there, but he works defensively. We can't afford to lose his offense, though, so I hopefully he does his adjusting and swings the stick well when he's out there and it all comes together. CKWG was saying a while back that some scouts believe CB is LAD's future CF, so. Lets just hope CB in CF doesn't mean Adrian @ 1B.
I'm telling you, it's a mistake to have tryouts BEFORE you clinch anything in this year. You are WAY ahead of anyone, so why not get it over early and then coast to the tryout phase with no more pressure. Then you can give your guys long needed rest and experiment. It showed a lot of hubris for the FO/Roberts to do this now and maybe other teams are saying FU, we're going to embarrass you. It's like the FO/Roberts expected another Belli and Seager and Kershaw to just pop out of their system.
It doesn't sound like the team has any intention of keeping Adrian @ 1B in the playoffs. The talk now is whether or not he will even make the postseason roster. It's hard to get a grip on what the Dodgers position plan is. We've had 3 different CFers in the last 3 games. I imagine if Seager's elbow is good good to go, ideally they would want Seager at SS, Bellinger at 1B, and Taylor in the OF. But all the position rotations makes you wonder. Maybe they are just giving guys reps at different positions in case disaster strikes, or maybe it already has.
Taylor in CF seems to be the deal if Seager is @ SS I'd be shocked if they went with Joc in the lineup over Grandy at this point Maybe if Joc had gone down to AAA and produced, but Grandy's year has just been more productive and he's sitting on about 50 career post season games worth of experience @ about a .800 OPS Go with Grandy and show Joc that he can easily disappear from the team's post season plans if he doesn't fly right..at least initially Perhaps at some point during the post, reintroduce Joc and see if his fat ass is done taking LAD life for granted..that's if he's not already pouting I don't know WTF the blue make up is about, get that David Bowie bullshit outta here You know what..I take that back..I called for something strange and that blue make up shit is definitely strange..maybe Joc is already looking for change Lol Go crazy, fat Joc
