I just can't trust Elbert, when LH hit over 100 points better against a lefty than RH do, that can't be good.

Sure could have used the 18 mil per year Andruw got given, the absurd amount you gave Schmidt in '07 and the horrible Uribe contract you fucked up back when money was a problem. Sure, money isn't so much of a concern now, but you're still a fucking idiot. Would probably have a championship in 08 and 09 if you could trade or sign for a fucking pitcher. Maybe that money you flushed down the toilet could have helped fucktard.

Can't believe I'm posting to this dick as if he's actually Ned. Nice, fun gimmick though.

interesting tidbit from the article ^
says our #1 target is james shields. i mean i love his game, i wanted to sell the farm for him in the deadline. this tells me they want nothing to do with grienke. they want short deals. lee gordon for shields whatever it takes. he's in control for about 2 years i think then you gotta resign him, and its at an bargain of 10 million. my guess is they go after him and if it doesnt work go after kuroda

I'd really like James shields. Do it for Pederson and some relief pitchers!

    Dodgers Targeting James Shields
    By Ben Nicholson-Smith [October 31, 2012 at 12:39pm CST]

The Dodgers have identified James Shields as their top target, Mark Saxon of ESPNLosAngeles.com reports (hat tip: Rays Index). The Rays will exercise the right-hander’s 2013 option, but could consider trading him as a way of freeing up payroll and addressing other needs.

Dodgers GM Ned Colletti aims to add a starting pitcher this offseason, Saxon writes. Shields would be an excellent fit, as I suggested when previewing the Dodgers’ offseason. The 30-year-old posted a 3.52 ERA with 8.8 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 in 227 2/3 innings this past season and his contract includes an option for 2014.

Colletti said he has also spoken to the agent for left-handed reliever Randy Choate. The Dodgers made their first major offseason move last night, signing Brandon League to a three-year deal.

They really want to win, don't they? Damn it feels good to have an owner who will do everything he can to field a champion.

Why would we target a guy who we would have to give up specs to get? Specs we really cannot afford to trade or that are desirable enough. I am calling bs on this story.

The word "afford" is not in he context of finances, it's about our lack of depth.
