Being completely honest, not sugar-coating it, winning a World Series this year would have felt better than any other year. All the story lines, Kershaw's greatest season, Greinke overcoming the Quentin BS, Puig lighting the world on fire from the word go, Hanley being otherworldly, 42-8, Uribe's redemption story, Hanley and Ethier playing through the pain, the Braves and Cardinals holier than thou attitudes. And not finishing makes it hurt that much more. Such a terrible feeling.
It's gonna take a long time to get over this one. A very long time. Such an amazing year with beautiful moments with a heartbreakin ending. The playoffs suck. Two stupid last minute injuries, and a cold streak with the bats and you're done. Fuck. Gonna be hard to get over this
any of you dudes in here have espn insider? its already the offseason but already im looking at info for the team. jim bowden has an article about us
Another NLCS to erase from the memory book. It couldn't be the Pirates. It had to be the last team I'd want to lose to. Fuck this sport. Next season is the last thing from my mind. Can't wrap my head around playing 162 more games and facing the Cardinals again in the NLCS. The silver lining in losing is that the organization won't feel obligated to bring certain guys back. It's open season.
First of all this was a special season to watch and be part of as a true LA Dodgers fan. Did I think that it would end this way....with CK losing? NO, I did not, and I'm not happy about it. This team lost several games in the post season, for several reasons. I'm going to point out why I believe we lost the series vs ShiT Louis. Looking at the offense is the big glaring problem. and some players BA was "not there"....at all. The best batting avgs in this series belong to CK at .333, A Ellis at .316, AGonz at .300, CC at .280, M Ellis at .240, Puig at .227, Ethier at .150, HR at .133, and JU at .130. I find this the hardest stat to have to digest, and quite frankly the hardest to believe. We all have seen what this team can do when the bats do "swing", and the pitchers pitch well. The starting pitchers pitched well enough except Nolasco, and CK tonight. The 1st 2 games also cost LA in this series, as both starters pitched their ass off only to be let down by the bats not swinging......at the right time. I'm not going to put DBB in the light here only cause he wasn't playing, the players were. Did injuries affect the team? Sure they did, and facing a team of this caliber certainly played a role. I could go on about the way some calls were made by umpires and the crews working, but what's the point, as it changes nothing. Let me mention this as well, as the season is now over, I will be around to put my 2 cents on the rest of the college football season(would love to see UCLA beat the fucking ducks in Eugene) and the NBA season ready to begin. I also love the LA Kings, and saw them lose to the lightning here in Tampa 5-1 earlier in the week. Stay well my friends.......Beautimus Blue lives on!
I'd like to thank all of you guys from DSP for making all of us from the ESPN board at home (especially Knock for the invite). Although I'm not the most consistent poster, I still felt very welcome. Good and bad, this is a "DAMN FUCKING GOOD BOARD". Looking forward to the hot stove action with you guys. I realize we lost our last to the Cards' but I just have to say "FUCK THE MIDGETS! FUCK THE MIDGETS! FUCK THE MIDGETS!". GO BLUE!
I'm surprisingly not mad, we played like shit headed into the playoffs. I never thought we'd win the while thing after kemp, Ethier, Hanley all got hurt. Remember Hanley was hurt coming into the playoffs.
