We have some very talented young arms and unless we trade them we aren't going to block them. Delerosa and Evan E are ready and talented and cheap. We need offense and unless Loney goes big time Votto could be targeted in multiple ways. Hamilton has relapse issues so who knows there. Hamels is a real possibility and with Kastens agent connections I bet his phone will be ringing off the hook soon.
I realize it is entirely possible Colletti could stay, at least for a while, but what past does he have with Kasten?
I could see us trading some of that pitching depth we have for a bat (Votto) if we sign Hamels and/or Cain.
Mark Walter (our money man): "I'm a baseball fan, but I'm not qualified to make baseball decisions, and I don't want to pretend to be." That's great, really.
Yeah, Hamilton is a big question. i doubt he'd come to the big lights of LA. Even with his relapses he takes his issue with drugs and alcohol seriously, he may not want to come to LA.
All of the discussion and all of the possibilities are just freaking exciting. Nothing to disagree about but lot of paths to get excited about!
Yeah he got the money for Jones and Schmidt and while not a lot he got money for Coffey who is has a 9.0 era right now while others with a 0.00 era got let go.
So Coffy was a good signing and why did Ned bother with Grabow if he was shitty and never had a chance?
