It's frustrating but I think it's a slump more then him being bad, if that makes sense. He's having good at bats and hitting it hard and eventually you'd think that turns into success. I do like that he at least makes a good amount of contact even in his bad results at bats, a nice change of pace from our players who K a good amount
this dude is a gamer playing stellar defense hitting the ball hard and with any luck could easily have 4-5 more hits rather he struggle now and get hot down the stretch/postseason and that's very likely what will happen
he was injured before the trade and is still recovering it was documented, his 'slump' has been going on for a month
Ah, well that explains it... First, trade for the fragile 100mph BP guy, then flip him for (not one but) TWO injured players, one on the DL the other in a slump that will undoubtedly be over by spring training next fucking year?? It alllllll makes perfect sense now~
He broke his thumb in june and has had knee ligament problems in may and july that have sent himto the dl. The hand issues are affecting his hitting for sure. And with a weak knee you lose a lot of power. He can can run and throw and still position well on defense. But handling a bat and generating torque are still an issue. We should sit him so he can rest for the final push. Hey there is this one pretty good RF in the minors we should try.
reddick is fine he's been hitting the ball hard and playing great defense and there's a reason that other guy is in the minors and he's not coming back
