Except they did get something for him..you and a few others just aren't doing backflips over what they got in return. However, nobody was doing backflips over Juan Uribe's performance for this team this year either. In a perfect world being fair would be in vogue, but in reality " fair " and " fan " aren't synonymous. I mean this FO actually specializes in finding valued returns and that's all they've done thus far with most of their moves, so is it fair to downvote this trade immediately? If it's fair to downvote this trade right off the bat, then it's also fair to assume that this is all they could find for Uribe. I mean it's safe to assume that if there was a better deal to be had for Juan Uribe that they would've gone with it instead, right?

I guess a better question may be, " is it smart to downvote this trade immediately? " But the FO's track record is part of the problem here..you guys expect gold everytime now when a little silver will do for a team that's one of the best in MLB. Listen, we all love Uribe, but he's the same 36 year old guy that everybody was in a hurry to replace with Guerrero and Turner this season. I'm assuming somebody from the outfield is soon to get the boot as well..prep yourselves..especially the Ethier fanatics. Just like the Kemp trade helped usher in Joc and eventually quelled all the crying over the " loss of power ", this trade is gonna usher in Olivera and at the end of the day..we're better.

Woke up and dammit still confused and mad as to wth is going on. Who does Stults take over for? Frias and Bolsinger are scheduled to pitch this weekend and Stults pitched today so wth.

The weird thing is that all 3 extra dudes besides Callaspo they got can easily be seen as DFA candidates. I guess so could Uribe and Withrow if he's a pumpkin. Hope this becomes clearer later cause it looks like shit right now

Well, not too long ago the Nerds were lynched by some over the Kemp trade and how about these Kemp numbers this year - .255/.291/.348 with 1HR, negative defensive impact, and a -0.3 WAR. Hell, Rollins doesn't even have a negative WAR. Just sayin..you could make the argument that the lynchings have worked out. Hahaha

Anyway, looks as if the reaction to this trade is beginning to go in the lynching direction. Apparently, even moves that involve the organization's 36 year old FIFTH BEST OPTION at 3B must yield big time returns.

TODAY: Callaspo received a “stipend” as inducement to agree to the trade, Peter Gammons of GammonsDaily.com tweets.

Puig, who I don't think they're trading (although you never know), will feel this more than anyone else will. His main buddy is gone now, and the depression which follows will contribute to his already established lunacy.
Some feel no matter what the nerds do it is golden, that they can do no wrong, and that everything they've done is top shelf.
Signing McCarthy, precarious at best, was a poor tactical move, and will not right itself this season, obviously. Blew up right away.
Bolsinger looks great, so the year , as it wears on, will tell on him.
Hatcher sucks, IMO, another Nerd dud. I certainly don't want this guy out there in a tight spot.
Hopefully , Frias scrambling last time out, will be only temporary.
Fingers crossed on Anderson. But a savvy ML pitcher.
You can go at some more...point is, they are far from perfect.
I can see giving up Lee in a trade, never thought he was spectacular, although I was roundly told he was great. I guess they don't think so, if he's the one. But for who ? Could they have wanted to clear Uribe that badly...? I guess so.
"A wait and see" on these particular moves.
If we win it all, then it's all good. But until we do, these guys look like anybody else to me...some OK, some suck.

yeah Juan Uribe. 4 win player both of the last two years. Plus a reliever although coming off an injury, shown huge flashes of potential, all for a mediocre utility man, a shitty pitcher, and two other guys who are nothing to celebrate.

Hanley and Uribe gone..time for Puig to grow up. and should he fail to do so, he becomes trade bait for when Jeff Loria goes into fire sale mode again and looks to deal Stanton.

but Puig does now have his buddy Olivera who he knows very well.

even if both clubs DFA everybody involved in this trade, Dodgers still win because barring injury the roster spot is eventually going to Hector Olivera.

Aware. Also aware his MRI came back clean which you conveniently failed to mention.

Sort of. Uribe was well liked by everyone. But the Dodgers clubhouse is filled with a bunch of veterans like Rollins, Kendrick, Gonzalez, Crawford, Greinke, Kershaw, AJ, etc.

which is why the Dodgers were afforded a return for a now 36 year old who's struggled this year and is not far from retirement.

fuck outta here..MLB shits on relievers in general. i loved Withrow, but he's a damn reliever and one coming off both Tommy John and back surgery..god bless him..on to the next.

the MRI wasn't mentioned because it wasn't the point. the point was that you were talkin about a guy who missed his last start with elbow troubles.

When you clumped them in with those others, I just thought you considered him the same.

it was simply listing 4 options that are all better than the guy we just traded for.

He's also 26. And plenty of people have success coming back from it, and if anyone can, it is a in their prime 26 year old.

Well, once the confusion anger and sadness resides, I hope the guys we got breakout. The two relievers have SOME flashes and interesting things that maybe lead to a breakout.

Stults is Stults. Would prefer the younger guys get the opportunities but there's also a very sad chance in the next month or two that Stults is one of the top 5 options for our rotation before July when they can really try and upgrade or give more time to the young guys to see what they are in the minors.

Also, I'm trying to wait til everything happens cause I just can't see how all 4 guys fit on the 40 man and some on the 25 man
