Las Vegas odds are fluid right now, but the most current odds have our division: 1) LAD 2) SF 3) ARI 4) SD 5) COL Dodgers are still the team to beat, even though their odds have gone down. Colorado has also gone down. SF and Arizona are moving up. SD is holding steady.
3 year deal though????? 35 year old player who hadn't pitched in a year before surprising EVERYONE with his success. Bad deal IMO.
This off season is quickly becoming a joke...so far, we've got only the DaRo signing to be happy about...and let's face it, although I believe otherwise ( I want to), he is a total unknown quantity. So, chuckles aplenty.
AGAIN 3 year contract for a 35 yo. This and trading Donaldson has Billy looking like an idiot at least to me.
If you haven't figured it out by now, here's how it's going down. We are not going to sign any free agent of consequence. All major acquisitions are going to come by trade. I feel more convinced every day that the FO has set a dollar amount to each FA and will not exceed that. If they get outbid, then so be it. I do feel pretty good about the return on investment in any trade scenario. We have the farm depth, plus draft picks coming, to make packages available to obtain the pieces needed to win. That's jmo.
And a guy who didn't pitch for two seasons, I was thinking he'd get like 1-2 years with an option but 3 guaranteed :O
So we give a shit about Utley and resign him for his fecal distress .212 BA but Kendrick's .295 BA sits alone on the wire?? Who said these guys are smart?? Show me Friedman's Wonderlic already... fuckin' morons so far per the evidence presented
Howie is getting 3 years and the FO is intrigued by Peraza plus Chase can play more than 1 position while Howie is a 2nd baseman.
