sorry, still too soon for me to look back on this season as anything less than a failure and fuck moral victories... "hey, i got hiv after engaging in unprotected sex and intravenous drug use with a haitian hooker... but at least i got laid!" yeah, memories... __
We'll see who's right...I'm not going to underestimate the ego of a guy like Wilson. He'll want the "closer" title next to his name.
We just got too banged up. I know it hurts to lose, but I dont think we should make drastic changes. Trim the fat in the bullpen, and improve infield depth. Lets look at the positives: 1) Puig showed he's the real deal and a worthy risk when we signed him. Hopefully will learn and get better next year. 2) Hanley got his groove back this year, and is the Hanley of old. Now he just needs to stay healthy. What happened to him was unfortuate. 3) Crawford and Agon bounced back from bad years and are both solid players for their positions 4) Kenley has taken that next step and is a bonafide closer. 5) CK, despite wetting the bed last night, is clearly entering his prime now. Things we can be optimistic about: 1) I know people are down on Kemp, but he's still a sleeping giant, and if he can get his shit together, watch out. He's got six months to get his shit together now. 2) Bills and Beckett will be back at some point next year, which gives us some added depth 3) Lee will probably be ready early next year, and Pederson late in the year, some organic depth I look forward to another excellent year next season, and hopefully next year is our year. I think we win 105 games next year
cautiously optimistic about kemp that ball he hit to dead central in sf showed his power had come back hopeful on bills and beckett chad's (arguably) has #2 stuff putting him out there against other team's #4's could be the best thing for him regarding beckett, i think people forget (or don't realize) just how good he was when he came here last year i love adrian carl is better than i expected, but still way overpaid for what he brings kenley is kenley puig is still young and still learning i hope he learns/adopts some of the games nuances -- but i hope he never loses that fire and passion he plays with lee, pederson... we'll see :irish:
