http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=25317 Interesting to see that De Leon made such a big jump on limited innings at his age.
Zach Lee at #5 is interesting. Does he still project that high or is our talent that little after the big 3?
Wouldn't surprise me if he were out of the Top 10 by next year with all those guys moving up a notch and our young catcher Leon moving into the Top 10.
I thought he was high when they came back with the final list but wtv. He's like a no-shit backend starter. Low risk; has value
Pretty much has a high floor but more of a limited upside then initially imagined right? Having Lee as a cost controlled #4-#5 isn't sexy but still very valuable to a team. 6+ years of a type of dude that can now cost 8-10+ mil
Doubt it. Doesn't have the 95+ FB Nailed it. A 1-2 win starter costs lots of money now, might as well keep guys like that and flip when someone is desperate and comes knocking
Will be interesting to compare this to BA's top ten...although some of their prospect selections have been a little odd this time around.
It'd also be interesting to see where they'd slot Moncada if LAD were to grab him. Would he trump Seager for the top spot fresh out of the box? I don't know if BP updates their rankings during the season..I know MLB.com does.
so " project " if you will..whether he's with the Dodgers or not, do you see Moncada passing Seager in the rankings ( before Seager makes the jump to MLB)? it wouldn't shock me if he did pass Seager. and it's no slight to Seager..it's just that Moncada is supposedly the toolsiest young Cuban of all-times and shit. Lol
makes sense. i mean Moncada may fuck around supplant Buxton too before they both make the jump. his switch-hitting excellence and versatile infield ability could separate those two as well. i mean Moncada could probably transition to the OF if necessary..can Buxton move to the infield? nope. and physically Buxton still needs to fill out..whereas, Moncada is obviously already a man.
you may not have to..Buxton has a 2015 ETA. i'm just saying, from a tools standpoint they have to be considered neck and neck at the least.
sources are saying that the Yankees and Red Sox are " the favorites " to sign Moncada, btw. Yankees need him. really bad.
