Yeah I expected Magic to go the PR route, just wasn't sure if he'd play the leverage game the right way/play the patience card. Happy to see it for sure and hope the same is going on behind the scenes as some of these kids really should be off-limits in a George trade..namely Ingram, Randle, and Zubac. I wouldn't expect George to bolt like Howard did, George being the hometown kid and seemingly pushing to get to LAL behind the scenes, but I still wouldn't want them sending more than what's necessary to get him from Indy.

The problem lies with George's camp telling interested teams that he'll only re-sign with the Pacers or sign with the Lakers in free agency. Now, a team could always gamble and be like " we feel like we can keep him once we get him " ala Lakers/Dwight. But it's in George's best interest to force a trade to wherever he wants to be so he has the option to sign for the max amount of years to stay
and you think that is possible? Put yourself in Indy's shoes and consider what serves them best. Then what? From their view they would love to pillage the Lakers youth. Can't let that happen. I find it so difficult to even ponder these innumerable options without the stale nutsack smell of Dwight the Coward in the room
What serves Indy best is to get value for the player and not end up like OKC..watching their star walk away with nothing show for him.

He a top tier defender, he can slash and score, and he can shoot the 3-ball while not being ball dominant. If you have ball handling wings..like the Lakers plan to have ( either Ingram or George..or both), Bradley is an excellent fit.
The trade deadline happens much sooner than that. And teams in the past have actually moved on from guys a year ahead of time to avoid being leveraged..Utah/Deron Williams, SAC/Demarcus Cousins, OKC/Harden. Indy's one saving grace is that if George makes one the all-NBA teams they'll be able to load him up with a ridiculous amount of money..however, even that comes with risk because George really has not shown himself to be worthy of holding nearly half a team's cap space, let alone a small market club that's had trouble building around George/enticing FAs to come and play
And being in LA ( and a Laker) is of course better than being in Indy, going to be a better landing spot for FAs. But George wouldn't get nearly as much per year with LAL. He'd be looking at nearly 40M per if he qualified for the designation in Indy..probably 27-29M per if he signed with LAL. Would he still be eligible for the designation after having been traded? That'd be a good question

-2 is replacement level, so you'll find that quite a few of the best defensive guards are in that 0.0 neighborhood, especially the ones who actually defend the opposing team's best guards night in and night out. Guys like Wall, Paul, Lowry, etc. Bradley's not a PG in name, but he is in stature and the smaller guards generally have less effect defensively than your wings like Iguodala. And so, again, if you have ball handling wings like Ingram and/or George, that leaves a Bradley to defend the opposition's PG. Bradley's one of the better small guards at turning opposing guards 94 feet..he's not Patrick Beverley level, but he's good. 147 3pt makes in 76 reg-season games last season, 124 3pt makes in 77 reg-season games the season before last, 108 3pt makes in 55 reg-season games played this year pretty much does say that he can make the 3-ball. The attempts per game say 5+ over the last couple years so he can take them, and the makes say 2 per so he can make them. Also, we probably shouldn't spend so much time on 3-ball's either..signed D'antoni/Rockets.
If Kyle Lowry is on the market why aren't those rumors circulating? Way better shooter, better everything. He's definitely an upgrade that gives Russell a bit more time to mature but today was the first time I've read about his being of possible interest. Note to self: do not play poker with Magic
I would not touch anyone of the prospects. Clarkson IMO is not a prospect. He would have to be the centerpiece of a deal. Clarkson, the Houston pick, Nick Young, Tarik Black, Thomas Robinson, and a 2019 first round pick.
