A top 50 prospect and probably a teams #5-7 prospect with one being close to thwm bigs sounds about right to me

Well to be quite honest we are playing our best baseball of the season right now, the braves and gnats have been playing .500 baseball since their respective hot starts, we have owned the division in head to head matchups, and we are a second half club....but I do wish we would sell off paps, utley, michael young, and ruiz wiyh hopes of retooling for next year

I wouldn't even give up Seager straight up for Utley. And Paco is better than anyone in your BP.

I wouldn't give up anybody, even a projecting #3 or average hitter for Utley. He's a rental. If Ruben wants the world, tell him to fuck off. The Phils are getting older and even though they're playing better right now, I don't see them making any waves in a tough division and the wild card spots most likely going to the two teams that don't win the Central. I'll gladly give him small deal in the offseason, but Amaro won't and shouldn't get anything this year.

Ya gotta give up good items to get good items and utley still is a top 5 2nd baseman...as for our bullpen, paps and bastardo have been solid shutting down the last 2 innings but our middle relief is just so inconsistent its rediculous

Seager is a future 3B/SS for us and is a top 50 spect. No point in giving up that much talent for 2-3 years of solid production from Utley.

I wouldn't mind giving up Pederson (our OF is stacked) + Magill + Dominguez.

Like I said in my previous comments about the Phillies, if they want top prospects for Utley, they can kick rocks. I don't even know if I'd trade Pederson for him and I think Joc is extremely expendable.

I personally would do that deal but I just.dont know if.RAJ would do it without seager simply bc we are short in infield spects in the upper minors and I think he'd be fast tracked

Joc is a really good spect. IMO, he should be top 30. He's absolutely killing it in a pitcher's league. I ranked him higher than Puig when he was in Chatanooga. Pederson is going to be a very good pro in the majors.

It's really sad, Dodgers are in a sucky situation with their overpaid outfielders. Otherwise, Joc would be in the majors already.

Seager is about as untouchable as a prospect can be.

Joc would be in a lot of teams, too.

But i the dodgers wont someone will.I can count the number of contenders with a better 2b than utley on one hand.he's got his issues but isnt still a middle of the order hitter at a premium position and still possesses an above avaetage glove

There's no way we're giving up Paco, Seager and Joc for an aging injury prone 2nd and hasn't been that good since 2010. He hasn't played more than 115 games since 2009, and hasn't battled above .260 since 2010. Plus he plays in a hitters park, and will be moving to a pitchers park, which is going to make him even less effective.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm fine keeping Ellis at 2nd. He's the kind of guy who plays solid defense, gives himself up for his team, battles at the plate, and yeah, it won't show up in the stat sheet, but he's a glue guy. Sure we could upgrade there, but I'm not giving up the farm for an upgrade that I dont think is all that pressing, especially for a player that hasn't stayed healthy since before smartphones got big. I'm definitely not giving up anybody noteworthy if we're eating most of that contract too.

Due to the fact that the Dodgers' farm has been so thin, they've been trading for players where they could absorb their salary without having to give up good prospects. If the Phillies will be reasonable then they'll work something out. If not, the Dodgers will look elsewhere or not at all.

not all 3 spects I said 1 of joc/seager and paco.and contrary to popular belief CBP is a neutral park according to park factor and deffinitely isnt not lefty friendly unless ur adead pull hitter which utley isnt not, he's a gap to gap hitter which would actually help the move to a pitchers park.yes hes would have less homers but.he'd also have less singles and more doubles.as for his contract, his extension he signed a few.years ago was and still is very team friendly and as was.said.earlier in this.thread a new contract would probably be a 2 or 3 years deal with an aav of $12-15M

I wouldn't give up ONE top spec. We hold all the cards or at least we should. Why would we give the Phillies a spec for a player who could easily go back to Philly if he wanted to so he can end his career there? Like I said, if Amaro asks for a top spec, you tell him no.

    We shouldn't be desperate buyers.
