Kershaw completely fell apart 2-4 pitch walks, 1-5 pitch walk, 2-0 count that led to a single, 3-0 count and got a courtesy strike. Now is pounding the zone again against Punto, before Punto drops a bloop single in.

I actually come on and check out the threads daily, for some reason I just haven't been posting as often.

I started a job around August last year and was pretty busy with that. I think that contributed to my low activity, but I quit that job about a month and a half ago, so I have a bit more free time now.

My issue is when anyone can begin telling those who believe a certain way that they must nullify their beliefs or risk being sued. If someone does not want to make a wedding cake for a gay couple because of deeply held beliefs, they should not have to. On the other hand, if a gay group does not want the westborow (sp) baptist church showing up at a shop that caters to homosexuals, they have that right too. This society is becoming a dangerous one where we have begun not only telling people what they should believe but purposefully attacking them when they do not agree. Dangerous.

The problem is that you can't pick and choose with religion. If said wedding cake company wants to deny service to a gay couple because it violates their beliefs, then they better be denying service to divorced people, unmarried mothers, or couples having premarital sex.

I am not disagreeing. At all. I think it is in bad taste to do so. HOWEVER, we are still playing with a very slippery slope currently.

I couldn't disagree more. Hating anything could be a "religious belief". I actually think creating anti-gay laws is the slippery slope.

I'm not particularly religious, but I grew up with a lot of Christian influences and I tend to be very sympathetic to people who are Christian -- but as someone on the outside looking in, I can tell you this is why people hate Christians. It's one thing to practice a religion, it's another to hate and discriminate others who aren't doing anything to negatively affect your life.

who's creating anti gay laws? if so many people disagree with the way you take care of business then they will stop patronizing the place. if i knew a restaurant discriminated against gays i would stop going there. maybe that doesn't apply in cases such as rentals of homes etc. but even then if you are limiting your client base its your loss. gay rights are NOT the same as civil rights with minorities. if a person believes that their god would not accept homosexuals into heaven then so be it.
i stopped to buy a gatorade today and was charged $2.50 for it. do they hate white people? i don't care but i will never stop there again. end of story.
how dare anyone tell us who we have to do business with. live long enough and you will see stereotypes aren't created out of the blue.
but hatred for hatreds sake will always come to light and i for one would like to know who these people are.
christians believe in family and procreation and find gay life abhorrent. even if i don't agree with them i still think they have a right to feel that way.

Not to pile on, Mousey, but I think you are looking at this wrong. I never said hate. I said disagree with. Most Christians I know would have no issue with the cake thing we are talking about. However, there are those who are very opposed to the practice of homosexuality. Consider this: you are told that you MUST create a cartoon for someone who is obviously a White Supremacist. He wants you to make a cartoon that bashes jews, blacks, catholics, et al. It must be gory and use words that you are very uncomfortable with. You, being you, tell him to pound sand (and you should). He sues you claiming that you are infringing upon his right to free speech.

Now, consider the backlash over Chick Fil A. They DID NOT discriminate. In fact, they were actually kind to those that were showing them the opposite (see story of giving water to protesters). See the issue? Think about how Catholics feel about abortion and then look at what catholic hospitals are being asked to do. I am telling you, it is coming to a point that a business will always fear being sued because it is easier than having a conversation.

I think that if someone were truly "christian" they should be more accepting than others because that is what Christ was. However, going back to the bake analogy, what if said homosexual wanted a very explicit scene on top of the wedding cake that made the baker quite uncomfortable. What if they "bakery" were in someone's home kitchen and his or her children helped him or her every night with the cakes in order to learn. Should a parent have to have that conversation with their child because someone demanded a cake a certain way? Now, change it to a straight couple that wants a bondage cake. Can they still say no? If so, why?

Must...resist...urges. FUCK! There is no god, there never has been, and arguing something based on "God" is ridiculous in itself. If a baker doesn't want to bake a dick cake they don't have to. Same with a pussy cake, ass cake, or anything else they consider to be offensive. Every business has the right to refuse services. There is no law that says I have to fix your computer just because you called me. Go ahead and tell me your gay, Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, black, white, swirl, or otherwise, the bottom line is if I don't like you for any reason I can tell you to call someone else. Period. Would I? Hell no. I'll take your money no matter what you're into. So this whole issue is dumb. If people don't want to take your money for any reason, they shouldn't have to. On the other hand, who the fuck are you to judge another person? Take their money and shut the fuck up. Additionally, if someone doesn't want your business because they disagree with your views, why would you WANT to give them your money? Go some where else. If some where else doesn't exist then you just stumbled onto a great business opportunity. Live and let live.

Must be great when the games aren't blacked out like the are on MLBTV by me. Filthy scum. The little bit I've seen so far, being the ultimate pessimist of course, is like very scary.
All together now: it's only ST.
They still look like shit to me though, in a couple of very important places.
